"Excellent Service"

The service of the staff at the hotel was excellent. A special thanks to Josh for his friendliness and willingness to help and advise. The standard single room is comfortable and fit for purpose considering the price. The hotel is ideally situated close to major tourist attractions and subways. Fantastic restaurants are literally just across the street.

The location is perfect. Easy walk to Times Square, Radio City and really close to a fantastic selection of restaurants. The staff are all excellent and really friendly (Carlos the bellman was great) and the hotel is really clean with a comfy bed (not so the pillows!) Now the not so good part. We were there for 7 nights. The internet is hopeless. We changed rooms after 2 nights to try and get connected and this was after spending half an hour on the phone to their tech guys who just told me the service was fine. The second room was marginally better in that at least it connected but it constantly dropped out (like every 2 minutes!!) and when it was working it was so slow. The rooms are ridiculously small as is the bathroom. I know it’s NYC and it’s an expensive city but this is just way too expensive for the facilities offered. There is no coffee or tea making in the room and they say it is available in the lobby in the mornings. It was some days. Non existent or cold on others. The pillows are really large and firm, the hot water is either really hot or not at all and it takes forever to arrive. Even finding a place for a toiletries bag in the bathroom was a challenge! I really want to be positive about this hotel because it has so much going for it (location, staff, clean) but for a long stay there would be better options. Perhaps avoid a king bed as the space taken makes the room even smaller.

"Great Service"

Wow, 5 stars is for the service in this hotel. The site I booked hotel through, listed the room as Standard Single, but since I was traveling alone, I thought it was still a Standard room, based on the actual hotel's site room descriptions. Turns out, it meant Petite room, which is 80 sq ft room, with just enough space for the bed and a toilet. I went downstairs to explain that I was under impression I booked a standard size room not petite. Standard is actually much more expensive. Now the staff could've been unaccomodating, and just tell me I booked wrong type of room, and its not their direct website I booked it through, but they, specifically day manager Jenny, upgraded me to a standard room without a hassle, even moved my luggage while I was in the office. So I always appreciate and respect a great service! So 5 stars for that! Hotel itself is in great location, either tourist or business, old building, probably a 3 - 3.5 star by New York standards. Even standard room is tiny if you compare to Vegas or LA, but again by NY standards it is standard. Even luxury places here have same size rooms. Basically, as a hotel, it does the job, great location and clean enough, and good enough space. But service wins. Ill stay here again for sure, unless my budget doubles next time :-)

Thought this hotel would be a good option being so close to Times Square but certainly not worth the money paid, the room is a shoe box, which one can accept except that so is the lift, the walls are paper thin and you need to slam the door to close it (so does everyone else at 5am or 11pm), then if your key card works on the 10th insert u throw a party. Don’t think your phone will charge in the only visible power point search for others. The only good thing is staff are great.
