Description

from SeaWorld San Diego
SeaWorld San Diego ’s new dueling roller coaster, Tidal Twister, made its debut in May 2019. A first of its kind adventure, this unique ride is an exhilarating experience that demonstrates the power of the ocean. Accelerating to 30 mph, riders will twist and bank as if riding the tide along a tight figure-8 track that includes a dynamic zero-G roll at the center section. Two trains, holding 16 passengers each, load at opposite ends of the figure-8 track and cross in the center with guests facing both forward and backward on the trains. A height requirement of only 48" makes this a perfect ride for younger guests and family members.

At SeaWorld® San Diego, you’ll connect with the sea and go on exhilarating rides and amazing adventures. Get up-close and personal with dolphins, penguins, sharks, and more. Plus, step beneath the waves and go hands-on at Explorer’s Reef™ - an all-new larger-than-life coral realm where you can touch a shark, a crab, or thousands of tiny cleaner fish that will nibble playfully at your fingers. It’s an exploratory adventure you’ll just have to see to believe.

Get an up-close and personal look at the incredible variety of marine life at SeaWorld San Diego. Enjoy close-up views of our gregarious penguins as they eat, waddle and play. Surround yourself with, touch and feed gliding rays in a one-of-a-kind grotto. Experience the amazing world of the sea turtle in Turtle Reef. Walk next to fascinating sharks and get to know lots of other amazing animals, too.

Come to SeaWorld and enjoy some of the most thrilling rides in San Diego inspired by the force and power of the sea. Soar, dive and twist like a ray on Manta®, the all-new roller coaster that only SeaWorld® could create. Take a spin on Shipwreck Rapids®, and take a plunge down Journey to Atlantis®. For young adventurers, be sure to join Elmo and his friends at the Sesame Street® Bay of Play® featuring the best in family-friendly rides.

Come and enjoy fabulous, family-friendly, live entertainment at SeaWorld® San Diego. We spent a weekday at the park, I liked being there on a weekday because it was not so crowded. I would of like to spend an extra day there, we rushed through a few of the spots.

"Traveled 14 hours and had a horrible experience"
May 2019 NEW
We did the all day eat package. The food was horrible and ended up throughing away over half of the food. The only food that was alright was the desserets. For all day food, was fast foods, greasy or flavorless. I was disappointed with the whole experience, becauae the advertisment made it look like an experience the whole family would enjoy. My greatest highlight out of the whole trip was watching my 3 year old enjoying himself.

Tip: Don't buy the all day eat package, buying what you want would be better.

"Go during off peak seasons"
May 2019 NEW
The Park was only open from 10:30 til 6:00. But during the off-Peak season it was plenty of time to see everything. You can almost ride the rides and get right back on and ride again. The weather was cooler, the lines for food short.

Tip: We took Uber Pool to the park and saved on parking fees.

"Buying tickets for Seaworld San Diego"
May 2019 NEW
I bought my tickets the day before my visit, and it was really easy; but is hard to be sure if you can trust the websites on internet, even if they offers discounts or coupons. So I made a resersh trying to find any bad review of Tripster (Reserv Direct) and didn’t see a single bad comment of them. Scams are easily to find warnings about them. So I realized I could make the purchase. (I saved $9.99 of service fee from buying in the official website of Seaworld). And I won’t lie, the time I waited since I made the buy till I recived my tickets was full of uncertain. But I send an email to support, and they really helped me fast and very nicely.
I enjoyed my day at Seaworld is an amazing place. The shows, the rides.
So just try to arrive early at the time the park opens, bring a hat and sunglasses, and of course a camera cause you gonna need them.

Tip: I visited on April so it was sunny, hat and sunglasses needed, and by closing at 6pm you need a sweater.

"shamu rocks"
April 2019 NEW
ever since they changed the performance of the shamu show seaworld is just not the same. I was so disappointed when I waited all day for the 600 showing and was so disappointed I will never see it again for sure. I want entertainment. if I wanted a documentary on sea life I would watch something on tv. im so sorry all these activists have ruined the seaworld reputation.

Tip: get wet at the dolphin encounter. do a behind the scenes interaction and i always recommend dining with shamu. foods great

"We love SeaWorld, but we were disappointed with the amount of attractions closed."

Our kids absolutely love SeaWorld, but every time we visit it seems like more and more attractions/ booths/rides are closed. It seems like the park might be going through some financial troubles. I hope that is not the case. It is hard and terribly sad to imagine a San Diego without SeaWorld. Perhaps it is time for SeaWorld to reinvent themselves and give the park a well needed facelift. Restaurants look tired, tanks dirty and even though the staff are helpful, they don’t seem to have the old SeaWorld enthusiasm.

Went with my family has a great time. Lots to see and ride. Recommend that you get the all-day dining, for us, it saved a lot of money. Went in early May so it was not crowded. Would go back again.

Try to get there when they open and then head to the more popular rides and attractions, the lines aren’t bad. As the day progresses the lines get longer. Great mix of things to do and see.

"Pleasant but unremarkable"

Whilst I have no doubt that Sea World cares deeply about protecting and nurturing sea life, public perception has changed over the years and there’s something not quite right about seeing these beautiful creatures “performing” to order in tanks that are nothing like sufficient to offer the type of freedom that these creatures deserve. All that said, the shows are good but I felt overall SeaWorld needed a bit of a makeover. Food offering was pretty poor throughout and the whole place had a “seen better times” feel about it.
