from SeaWorld San Diego
SeaWorld San Diego ’s new dueling roller coaster, Tidal Twister, made its debut in May 2019. A first of its kind adventure, this unique ride is an exhilarating experience that demonstrates the power of the ocean. Accelerating to 30 mph, riders will twist and bank as if riding the tide along a tight figure-8 track that includes a dynamic zero-G roll at the center section. Two trains, holding 16 passengers each, load at opposite ends of the figure-8 track and cross in the center with guests facing both forward and backward on the trains. A height requirement of only 48" makes this a perfect ride for younger guests and family members.

At SeaWorld® San Diego, you’ll connect with the sea and go on exhilarating rides and amazing adventures. Get up-close and personal with dolphins, penguins, sharks, and more. Plus, step beneath the waves and go hands-on at Explorer’s Reef™ - an all-new larger-than-life coral realm where you can touch a shark, a crab, or thousands of tiny cleaner fish that will nibble playfully at your fingers. it was an awesome experience, except that because it was Monday, there were some attraction or rides that was blocked out, it would have been nice if SeaWorld do not cut off any attraction or rides regardless of days.....

"Fantastic fun days for my family"

We bought the 7 day pass and went 3 times to SeaWorld. The shows do change a bit so it is worth going more than once. However, we were shocked by the $22 parking fee.

"Reasonable Entertainment"
August 2019
The price of Sea World on Tripster saved us a lot of money for four adults. The process is very easy to obtain on line. Our out of country guests were very impressed with the shows, the cleanliness and largeness of the park. There is plenty of room for people, strollers and wheelchairs to maneuver without being in anyone’s way. It was a fun day.

"Should probably have a backup if they aren’t able to have a show"

I want to start off by saying I had a great time while I was there, though it was sad to see the orcas with the collapsed dorsal fins. The dolphin training (not the Dolphin Days show) was super cool to watch! The trainer let anyone who was close enough touch the dolphin, and it was interesting to see the dolphins do some tricks. My title comes from issues that happened during the Dolphin Days show. The day that I arrived, SeaWorld got some pilot whales, so the dolphins were really excited and distractible. They performed some behaviors, but the show had to be cut short because of the distraction. I like that they did that for the animals’ sake, but I do think there should be a backup plan in case that happens, like maybe another training session at Dolphin Point. Also!! If you are going to any of the shows with little kids and sitting in the splash zone, make sure your little ones understand what they’re in for! At the orca one, every single time the orca splashed the crowd, without fail a bunch of little kids would start screaming and crying because they got scared.

We’ve been to Seaworld in Orlando numerous times since the mid nineties and have seen it develop over those years. This fact has probably spoiled us and also why we found Seaworld San Diego a little lacking. It’s a lot smaller and there’s less to do and see. Also they had just cut down the opening hours to correspond with the time of year, and therefore there was a much shortened list live shows. Saying that it did provide a few hours of entertainment and is worth a visit if you’ve never been to Seaworld before.

"Shamu Sidelined"

So excited to finally visit the granddaddy of all Sea Worlds where had only been to the one in San Antonio. We arrived by Lyft to end up getting stuck in traffic at the parking lot entrance where there was no dedicated ride sharing/drop off lane. After a long wait we were dropped off in front but the pickup is located somewhere else in the parking lot with poor signage. I had purchased passes online (recommended) and upgraded to Quick Queue Premier to save cost and avoid a line. There are many sea life animals to see and rides to enjoy. For some reason you had to pay to go up the Skytower Ride to enjoy Sea World from above. There were plenty of shops and hands on contact with animals. The one I most enjoyed was the tank full of Garra rufa fish where you could stick your hands in and let these tiny carp eat off your dead skin basically cleaning your hands (no feet please). Sea World has changed dramatically where Shamu no longer performs, poor food quality, unfriendly employees, and unmaintained sections of the park. I found it here the same as in SA. I noticed some rides were shutdown where this was July 4th week and expect everything operational. It’s seems like the park focused on only entertaining the little kids except there are a few rides for the teenagers. Since I had Quick Queue Premier this allowed me to cut the line, but for some rides it did not matter especially in the morning. I was not impressed with the Penguin Encounter where it was so dark you could not see the penguins and the glass was so filthy and even if the lights were on you still would not see them. I also kept overhearing parents telling to their kids how the orcas used to jump out of the water entertaining guests by getting them wet and seeing the trainers fly in the air. When I was a kid Shamu was the reason people went to Sea World. This location has a smaller footprint but packed with lots to see and easy to walk around. There are rides and educational sea life exhibits, and everything is stepped up compared to the SA location. The weather is great and gets chilly at night so bring a light cover to enjoy to night performances. And if you are looking for Aquatica then it is located at another location in San Diego where it is much warmer.

This was the second Sea World I have visited the first being Orlando, my sister who was with me enjoyed this park more than Orlando I was 50 / 50 it was nice to see some differences but I do enjoy the ability in Orlando to get into shaded areas for the shows SD Seaworld I was unable to find any shade for any of the shows and it was a warm day but since I was visiting the temp that day may not be normal for that area. I enjoyed the difference in the rides that was a plus, I was looking forward to going into the penguin enclosure but was disappointing in that it was behind closed glass and not open like Orlando. The biggest thing I took away though: we were accompanied by my granddaughter, if you have a stroller which I have not used in 20 years there are a lot of indoor areas that have viewing areas you cannot bring a stroller in (which is understandable due to crowds) I would highly suggest a backpack for your infant.

"Don't buy the all day dining pass!!!"

We visited Sea World San Diego Memorial Day weekend 2019. Figuring we would eat lunch and dinner during our visit the All Day dining pass made sense. What were didn't know is EVERYBODY else thought Tyne same thing. Result: a total of three hours spent in line just to get lunch and dinner. We literally spent more time waiting for food than any of the rides or shows. The problem was made worse by SeaWorld only staffing two cashiers (instead of 4) leaving two cash registers closed during peak time. People were also incredibly rude. Families rolling 10 to 15 deep would push their way through the line to join family members up front. The fish taco stand $8.95 had no line. Save your money and time by NOT buying the all day dining pass.
