Description

from SeaWorld San Diego
SeaWorld San Diego ’s new dueling roller coaster, Tidal Twister, made its debut in May 2019. A first of its kind adventure, this unique ride is an exhilarating experience that demonstrates the power of the ocean. Accelerating to 30 mph, riders will twist and bank as if riding the tide along a tight figure-8 track that includes a dynamic zero-G roll at the center section. Two trains, holding 16 passengers each, load at opposite ends of the figure-8 track and cross in the center with guests facing both forward and backward on the trains. A height requirement of only 48" makes this a perfect ride for younger guests and family members.

At SeaWorld® San Diego, you’ll connect with the sea and go on exhilarating rides and amazing adventures. Get up-close and personal with dolphins, penguins, sharks, and more. Plus, step beneath the waves and go hands-on at Explorer’s Reef™ - an all-new larger-than-life coral realm where you can touch a shark, a crab, or thousands of tiny cleaner fish that will nibble playfully at your fingers. It’s an exploratory adventure you’ll just have to see to believe.

Get an up-close and personal look at the incredible variety of marine life at SeaWorld San Diego. Enjoy close-up views of our gregarious penguins as they eat, waddle and play. Surround yourself with, touch and feed gliding rays in a one-of-a-kind grotto. Experience the amazing world of the sea turtle in Turtle Reef. Walk next to fascinating sharks and get to know lots of other amazing animals, too.

Come to SeaWorld and enjoy some of the most thrilling rides in San Diego inspired by the force and power of the sea. Soar, dive and twist like a ray on Manta®, the all-new roller coaster that only SeaWorld® could create. Take a spin on Shipwreck Rapids®, and take a plunge down Journey to Atlantis®. "Playing with the Sea Life"
July 2019 NEW
As a family of 9 we enjoyed all Sea World had to offer! Our tickets included the AllDay Meals plan, which paid off after the 1st purchase of lunch. Being a Wednesday, line wait for rides was tolerable. Beautiful weather to enjoy the animal shows...learned to arrive before showtimes for best seating. Great day!

"Fun for the whole family!"
July 2019 NEW
Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! It might be worth it to pay for 2 days in order to make the most of all the shows and rides. The park is clean and staff is very friendly. Lots of fun, interactive exhibits and amazing sealife. We loved SeaWorld San Diego!

Tip: Arrive early and do the rides first. Even so, lines seemed to move quickly. Beware of gift shops and pricey food! We bought souvenir soda cups, but the refill stations seemed to always be empty. Refill at the restaurants instead if you choose this option.

"Good shows but DON'T expect to be able to eat there without waiting an hour"

We enjoyed the shows and the information provided. It was parents and two 15 year old girls. We bought the all day dine with our tickets. Never again. First of all, I did not understand that we could not get simple drinks at the carts. The restaurants we could use ran out of food, the lines were super long and we missed shows standing in line. It was a ridiculous experience. The last restaurant we ate at we stood in line for 40 minutes and still had to wait on more food to be cooked/delivered. It was a super waste of time and we missed some of the park for these reasons. We only had one day there and were disappointed we could not see it all. Even if you limit the restaurants, these restaurants should have a quick serve line that allows someone to just get a drink. The places were understaffed and the workers were not friendly at all. Most places were set up for two or three lines but only one was open. I feel like we should get partial refund because of this bad experience.

"Left us thirsty"

Went on a Saturday, we purchased 4 all day food bands. We started by totally not knowing where to get the food bands, we asked at the front gates non of the employees new, then processed to ticket entrance they told us to get it at the restaurant. We went and they had no ice, we were so thirsty and was so wanting our water and drinks with ice. None of the young employees seem to care about resolving the issue. As they day went on we went to two other booths that accepted the wristband and they too had rand out of ice. The employees were so busy that they could less if we wanted ice with our cokes. Later we went to dinner and the pizza restaurant was nasty and sticky, no one yo clean the sticky tables. Ground was dirty with trash. The whole park is so short on employees. I recommend you go on a weekday. A mess on the weekends.

"Staff was pitiful."

Having been to several including this one 10yrs ago I can tell you the biggest difference in the staff. They just don’t seem to care about hospitality. The pick seemed dirty and staff acted as if you were interrupting there playing on there phones or talking to each other. Yes the shows were good and the rides were fine (although several were broken intermittently while we were there). It appears this park is struggling.

This was a really fun day exploring sea life. We loved the shows and the hands on experiences. The kids loved the sharks the most! With teens one day was all we needed at Sea World. When they were little they wanted several days to explore and play there.

"Make sure to check the dolphin show"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

The rides aren't as good as the Knott's Berry Farm one. We really lucked out as it was low season, and it was cloudy so wasn't too warm. It rained in the morning before we got there and when we were done, it started raining again. No need to pay extra for the VIP that get you priority into the lines, because there was no lines. We went during the week. Get the costco go city pass and it's included for multiple days. We only went there for half a day though. Make sure you check out when the dolphin show is because during low season, there isn't as many shows.
