"Great experience, but too many technical delays in popular rides"
January 2020 NEW
It was my first time going to such a resort, and I was amazed by how much there was to do and how fun it was. However, after two days of seeing it I felt like I saw everything that was worth it. Needless to say, since I bought 5 days, I went on most rides multiple times.
The very popular rides (all Harry Potter, Transformers, Spiderman, Hulk, Kong) have long lines and special single rider lines. The single rider lines are much shorter, but you are missing out on interesting decorations/movies/experiences, so I also went in the regular lines to see those things.
For people without children, the must experience rides in my opinion are: Hagrid, Forbidden Journey, Escape from the Gringotts, Transformers, Skull Island - Kong, Spiderman, Hulk, Hollywood Rockit, The Simpsons, Ripley Falls, Shrek... Ok, all Thrill and 3D & 4D things are must see, but above are the most memorable IMO.
Don't forget to download the Universal Orlando app to see wait times and maps, set alarms for low wait times and such things.
It is also important to get the Park to park pass to go on the Hogsmeade train, an enjoyable experience and it is different in each of the 2 stations. the King's Cross has the magical mirror where it seems you go through the wall.
Some of the Kid rides are super nice too, like E.T. and Minions.
Long story short, most things are worth seeing. As for shows, the Poseidon one really impressed me.
Volcano Bay was really underwhelming after going to the main parks, the only things worth experiencing are Krakatau aqua coaster, Maku of Maku and Puihi of Maku, then the ika Moana ones.
...
I liked Universal a lot, so I ended up upgrading to a 1 year Seasonal Pass...

Everyone should check out my video of the raptor encounter: https://youtu.be/lzqR-PkH9b8

P.S.: If the raptor trainer sees this, call me

"Better than Disney for Adults"
November 2019
Amazing rides. The money and quality they put into each ride experience is unreal.
3 WORDS: Express Lane Pass.
SO WORTH IT. Compared to waiting almost 2 hours per ride with a regular pass we only waited like 30 min max.
They also have cool lockers that you open and close for free with your park pass.

"Disappointed"
September 2019
After spending 4 days in Disneyworld, I was quite disappointed in Universal Studio.
Everything inside the parks is more expensive.
I encountered at least 3 technical problems with 3 different rides.
When you spend so much money for the entrance, I don't want to stay stuck with my legs bouncing: it is scary and it ruins the experience.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the highlights of the parks, however it is totally a rip-off to consider Island of Adventures and Universal Studios two different parks.

Tip: If you want to enjoy the full experience of the Wizarding world of Harry Potter, make sure to have the Park to Park ticket.

"Awesome rides, less accommodating than Disney"
July 2019
Universal has awesome rides, the Incredible Hulk ride is outstanding. The wizarding world of Harry Potter is super well done and fun. They don’t let you take a backpack cooler inside which sucked, and the kids directing parking don’t know what they’re doing, but those are minor complaints. Escape from Gringots ride is also amazing.

"Island of Adventure"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed January 20, 2020 NEW
The island of Adventure had a variety of rides from water, to thrill, to kid rides. I was almost unsure of the variety of options available and how to enjoy a full day at the park because a lot of the rides seemed to be water rides which left us unsure of what to do that wouldn't leave us soaked for the rest of the day. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was definitely the highlight of the Island of Adventure for me but it was always PACKED with people which made it almost not worth it. It was difficult to get around, casting spells was near impossible, and the wait times for rides were some of the longest.

"A good park, but expensive and queue to get in doesnt work."
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed January 19, 2020 NEW
Ok, we have been to Universal and IOA a number of times and since Hagrids has been built we have felt the need to rope drop to enable us to get on the ride without a 2 hour wait. So...we arrive at the Park 50 minutes before it opens...we get to the entrance and there are a number of (so called) queues...we get in one of them and wait for 50 minutes till the park opens...obviously during this time the queues behind us get crazy long. So...the Doors open and the staff start scanning tickets. It becomes quickly apparent that our queue line is in fact two lines into one, whereas everyone other line is 1 line per check in staff...this meant that our line was taking twice as long to get people through. This frustratingly meant that we had got to the park 50 minutes before opening, but those in other lines who got there 50 minutes after us were getting through quicker!!!....to say we were annoyed is an understatement....it then meant that instead of us being one of the first couple of hundred people in, we were behind thousands which then meant instead of getting to the Hagrids queues with it being just a 5 or 10 minute wait, we instead had to wait 75 minutes. Please please PLEASE can Universal staff be at the front gates monitoring the queues before the park opens...Disney do it so no reason why Universal cant. It would avoid a LOT of angry people...everyone round by us was fuming...while people in the lines were laughing. The park itself is great...although lots of work going on with building the new Jurrasic park ride so a little bit of an eyesore at parts.

"Great Park!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed January 19, 2020 NEW
Having been before Islands of Adventure lived up to my memories and exceeded them in some cases. In comparison to Disney, wait times were low, great staff and all rides easily achieved within a day. In fact we made it onto one key ride 5 times in 30 minutes. Parking is expensive at $26 per day, but I guess that’s something you just have to live with.

"Great new ride, Tom at Three Broomsticks is a bummer"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed January 18, 2020 NEW
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a rest treat! Rode two times and each was thrilling! We love Mythos Restaurant and Mythical Metals in the Lost Continent. The bummer of the trip was Tom at the entrance of Three Broomsticks who commanded that I park my mobility scooter outside or I couldn’t go in. Really? I’m supposed to walk unassisted when I cannot? We tried to explain but he was adamant that my personal scooter wasn’t allowed inside. We left. The next day, in Universal Studios, my scooter was welcomed in the Leaky Cauldron.
