We all enjoyed it. Except I do have one complaint, my son 39 inches was able to ride most the rides BUt the ONLY one he really wanted to ride (despicable me) had to be 40 inches.. so they wouldn’t allow him to ride. This was very disappointing. I do know it’s for safety but a lot of the rides there require an adult or really are a bit more for taller folk. But come on... the only ride he wanted to go on and looked forward to he was rejected and sadly disappointed. Other than that. We all enjoyed ourselves. The prices in the park for food is ridiculous. Drinks aren’t terribly priced at least not to someone who is used to these tourist attractions and such.

"Be a kid again!"
November 2018
I had been to Universal Studios in Singapore and this was even better.

Great options in terms of dining, rides and entertainment.

Advise for people visiting -
1. If you want to cover all the rides and shows in one day, have a plan ready. You should reach before 10. There are some sites which give you the strategy.
2. Lots of water fountains around, stay hyderated
3. Prepare to walk a lot
4. Time your rides around shows
5. Try the single rider lane to save time
6. Do your shopping at the end
7. Eat during off peak hours.

All in all, it was a great day of entertainment. The only disappointment was that the Jurassic ride was closed.

"Fun place to visit if you like the movies"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

This is a great place to visit if you love the movies. The new Harry Potter world is so much fun especially if you love the series. I would get there early and purchase the tickets to enter the park 1 hour earlier than everyone else as Harry Potter gets really busy. The ride around the property is worth it to see the movie sets since they have added new scenes. Plus it gives you a chance to rest and avoid the sun especially during the summer. The new Transformer ride is really fun so make sure you take the escalator down to the bottom part of the park. If you park in the garage by the city walk you can look around there as you head to the front gate of Universal Studios.

"Universal Express Ticket - It's a MUST!!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed May 19, 2019 NEW
3 Adults and two 10 yr old boys, bought the California on-line day ticket-$104 (remember to buy the ticket on line BEFORE you get to the park....takes a good 30 minutes to get the email to download the ticket...we bought them at the park to save the $30/ticket and had to wait outside until they email came through on our phones)...didn't get the "Universal Express" at first because it was an extra $50 per person.... Got in park, went to Minion ride and was in a 75 minute line. While in line, looked at all the other rides and they were 60-300 minute waits! No way we could to all the rides before the park closed and the kids (and the adults) didn't want to stand in line the entire visit. Went to the "Upgrade booth" in center of the park and paid the $50 extra per ticket!! (we were in the last group of Universal Express tickets available to buy that day....sold out by 11:30am). Rest of day was all of a sudden "enjoyable and exciting". We waited max 15 minutes in Universal Express lines, had early seating for all shows and special preferred seating location for Universal Express tickets holders!! YES, It was $50 more, but I would only do the park this way in the future. The lines SUCK!!! I am not a big spender, but this expense was one of the MOST enjoyable I have ever done. If we would have started this way, we would have done the entire park by 7pm and could have had a nice dinner in City Walk somewhere. Lastly, the $50 extra for the Express ticket, only get's you one time at each show or ride, but that is enough for one day!!!

"Invest in VIP if you love movies"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed May 19, 2019 NEW
Last time you visited the Studios was 1993. Of course a lot has changed and this time, as a movie lover, I've invested in the VIP ticket. Not cheap but absolutely worth the price. Only VIP will drop off the busses and live visit or walk inside the places where most of the best world's movies have been made. Do it!

"Well worth the trip"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

Universal use to be a side trip for a trip to Disneyland, not anymore. Universal has stepped up their game and have a solid base of Disney style "E-ticket" attractions with a ton more on the way. Great things are looking to come this Summer of 19 and more to follow over the next several years. I am super excited to see this park stepping up their game with immersing you into the theming of the attraction your visiting. The Universal City Walk is hands-down superior to the Downtown Disney area. And that's hard to say since I am a hard core Disneyland fan, but I do have to speak the truth.
