I had so much fun! We took our family there to celebrate our grandchildren's birthdays. It was priced really fair and there's a ton of different stuff to do. We got there early and rode rides then went to the see the Legos and to the Aquarium. It was a great time I will always cherish. Next time we'll stay another day and go to the waterpark too.

"Overpriced and Underwhelmed"
July 2019 NEW
Short story is $100 a person for tickets to enter, $30 to park the car, $10 per try to play any of the carnival games, entry fee does NOT include the use of the 3 water parks, that will set you back another $30 a person, mostly a lot of walking around from attraction to attraction only to find long lines and more and more fees. Totally misrepresented. This trip was our 1st and out last to Legoland... Underwhelmed

LegoLand California was super fun for the kids and adults. Make sure to spend at least 2 days to experience it all. My kids range from 3 to 5 and they had plenty of rides they were allowed to ride.

"Family Vacation Done Right"
April 2019
My family and I (myself, 3 kids and their dad) spent Spring Break in the beautiful weather in Carlsbad Ca. It was our first time at Legoland and it did not disappoint. My 6 year old son was amazed at all the Lego people we saw and said I was the best mom ever for taking him. That was all worth it.

The lines are not to long. We did have trouble with them scanning in out tickets, I suggest printing them out. We had trouble with the add-ons to out tickets (sealife and the water park) for some reason the tickets we purchased from reserve direct were not in the system. After a long wait legoland printed us new tickets. The water park was fun but bring a change on cloths and a towel. Sealife really was not that big of a deal, it's just like other aquariums. Overall legoland was fun.

My husband and I took our son and his son for a fun day at Legoland, and were most definitely not disappointed at all! Our favourite ride was the submarine where we saw amazing animals up close. I couldn't tell who was more excited spotting them, my son or grandson!

The whole family enjoyed our trip from 5-71 years of age...just have fun!!! The first thing we did was to ride the rolling coaster grandson had never road it before we sat in the front of the coaster screamed and yelled and at the end said "ONE MORE TME" and off we went just as thrilling as the first go around. It's like a Yuppy Disney, TONS of FUN!!!

"Great time for Lego lovers"

Five stars from my kids, four stars from mom. My younger boys (7 & 4) absolutely loved Legoland. They are huge Lego fans and this was basically going to the mothership - made out of Legos. They met many Lego characters, rode rides and just bounced around to the same 5 songs they have on a loop. We downloaded the app with ride wait times which was a huge time saver. As the day went on, we just skipped the longer lines and they rode some rides twice. Sure we missed some things that way, but they didn't care since they didn't want to wait 30+ minutes. The Dragon roller coaster was fun and a great first coaster for them, we also liked the Ninjago ride. Food was what I expected, overpriced and only fine. I was very disappointed that some of the food stalls were closed (there was one in Ninjagoland that I was actually looking forward to). Overall, cheaper than Disney and smaller, but a great time for younger kids who love all things Lego. Not a great fit for older thrill seekers.

"Better experience in the Park this time"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed July 17, 2019 NEW
Three years ago we visited LEGOLAND for the first time with our then four-year old grandson. It was simply a day drip and we came away underwhelmed. As the now seven-year old has been requesting to go back again, we decided to do a two-night adventure through LEGOLAND Vacations. That part we won't do again and if you're interested why, read my review of the Castle Hotel which covers the whole package. This review is for the Park and Water Park only. For the most part the park has not changed since my three star review of 2016. It is still a meandering design where you have to wander over winding paths that take you through areas you may have wanted to skip to get to areas you're interested in. The KEY is, plan your day. What rides interest you the most, when you want to go to the water park (if you have a park hopper ticket), and where and when you want to eat (assuming you're eating in the park). This is essential to adding enjoyment to your day. HINT #1: Monday was relatively free of the huge crowds. No matter what ride we went on, the longest wait was maybe 20 minutes. On Tuesday the lines had gotten MUCH longer. The park has a wide range of rides from those geared to the very young to the faster roller coaster types that my grandson was into. His favorite is The Dragon, which is probably in the middle when it comes to speed and twists, but still a blast. There are a number of food choices. For our dinner Monday we chose the Pizza Pasta Buffet, which turned out to be very good. A bit costly, adults $20, kids $10. However, HINT #2: Right now they're running a special where after 5:00 pm kids eat free. So, for $40 the three of us chowed down on deep dish pizza, which was right out of the oven hot and very tasty. Not much pasta to speak of, but the penne Bolognese was actually surprisingly good. No great, but good. This was our first visit to the water park and spent about two hours in it and thoroughly enjoyed the time. Again there was a crowd on Monday but not horrible. We got to do everything we wanted without a fuss. HINT 3: Bring appropriate footwear, ideally pool slippers. While many do go barefoot it's not recommended. Some use flipflops. but you have to take those on & off every time you go in the water. You can also rent a Cabana, but unless you plan to spend the whole day in the Water Park, the cost is too high: About $275 for their basic one. If you have a group sharing it, maybe it makes more sense, but it didn't for the three of us. Hint #4: If you plan to visit the Lego Store, do so early. The closer it gets to closing, the more insane it is. We popped in around 7:00 pm on Monday and it was just jammed with kids running around, people bouncing into you, and the check-out lines confusing. However, when we went in around 11:30 am on Tuesday, hardly anyone in the place. Found what we wanted without feeling rushed, purchased it, and was out in about 15 minutes. Overall, a better experience. However, to stress again: We won't set up our next visit through LEGOLAND Vacations. Way too expensive for what you get, and just doesn't provide any real advantage when it comes to the park.

"Total Disappointment"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed July 16, 2019 NEW
So excited to come from Australia & it was a complete disappointment. So overpriced for what you get for a tired old park and hotel. Never would be recommend to anyone. Save your money and go to Disneyland. The park is old, rundown and in need of a good clean. The majority of staff just seemed sad / bored, the whole vibe of the park was not good. And so many extra charges. Even the water park which is part of the park they charge you extra for, even when for pay an extra $325 for a cabana they still want more. We brought a daily photo pass but that doesn't include all photos and some cost extra. We had been to Disneyland prior and wow, Legoland should really take some tips from there. Avoid this place, save your money and go to Disneyland. Oh and even the "big lego store" in the park was a disappointment, even the Lego store in downtown Disney was so much better. Staff in the hotel gave us incorrect info about park opening hours, the valet staff were rude. We left something in the room and contacted Legoland an hour after leaving and they say they cant find it, when we gave an exact description of where it was left. There was an emergency situation by the hotel pool one day and the lifesaver couldn't even get out of their chair, just whistle to another lifeguard, such a delayed reaction a patron had to run in to help as they staff were so slow. Yet their constant whistling, and telling kids of in the pool for just basic playing was so over the top. Please if you are thinking of staying here save your money!!
