We were assigned the adjoining 2 bedroom condo rooms 539 and 540. They did put in new floors. The furniture was dated. The kitchen cabinets were fairly new. However, the refridgerator was so beat up it belonged at the dump. All corners of every room had built up scum. The ceiling fan had copious amounts of dust. We found hairs in the tub. The beds were uncomfortable. Shall I go on? Not only does the place need a deep clean and update it needs housekeeping that really cleans so it stays that way! The pool chairs were dated. Those that were missing straps should be removed. The pool had floating scum in the corner as you enter. All windows of the hotel are filthy. On a good note we loved the staff at the breakfast buffet. They were wonderful. The food at the buffet was ok. The music at Ocean Annie's was great. However, if you have an oceanfront room and go to bed early this place is definitely not for you. The music is blasting until 11 pm. We made the best of it, but would not stay here again.

Purchased our time share unit in 1989l 30 years ago. Have so many good memories from the times we have spent at this resort. Our unit is on the 15th floor and looks out over the ocean. Perfect! And we're able to look down and see/hear Ocean Annie's! A bonus.

"14 tips for Ocean Sands Club"

Ocean Sands Club functions like a hotel but appears to be a collection of rentable condos and timeshares. Great ocean front bar with free live music. We have been here multiple years during mid-to-late September. Some tips: 1- Be sure to go listen to the live band at Ocean Annie’s ocean front outdoor bar. Hours are typically around Noon to 11pm, but on quiet days like September Mondays they end as early as 6pm. The music varies but is usually classic, soft rock and R&B. Many songs are danceable. Sit by the adjacent swimming pool or on the beach if you don’t want to drink. 2- If you want to sleep late, avoid the lower 8+ floors of ocean view units on the north side of the north tower (rooms ending in 20 to 26). Loud deliveries, dumpster trucks, and sand/leaf blowers woke us up a few days between 6 and 8am. Or bring ear plugs. 3- If you enjoy live music try to get an ocean front unit in the two south towers overlooking the outdoor pools (rooms ending in 7 to 10 and 35 to 40). Just sit on your balcony and enjoy the concert. They stop by 11pm. 4- Bring a beach chair. They don’t rent them in September. The folding beach chairs that you can carry as a backpack are very convenient. Some of these even have a carrying pouch built in for your water, books, and snacks. 5- Bring a beach umbrella and sand mount. They don’t rent them in September. The sand mounts that look like a large metal spiral wire work really well in Myrtle Beach’s hard packed sand. 6- We love to come in September. The air and water temperatures are still summer-like but there are no crowds. Monday-Thursday is extra quiet with just the retirees present. Friday and Saturday nights have a large crowd for the music and dancing, but still not as busy as summer. 7- While the risk of hurricanes is high in August and September, the hotel is very good about providing refunds if a hurricane is imminent. 8- Leave your pickup truck and large SUV at home if possible. The parking garage is very low and the spaces are tight. However if you must bring a large vehicle, the alternate parking garage across the street is easier to maneuver. 9- If you are serious about cooking meals, upgrade to the one (or two) bedroom unit as it has a full kitchen. The efficiency units have a much smaller kitchen. 10- Be sure to sign up for their email list. They regularly have great sales and specials. 11- Bring your own towels for the pool and beach. While the resort offers new bath towels every day, they do not offer towels for the pool or beach. 12- Luggage carts appear to be rare here. Consider bringing a small hand cart if you have a lot of stuff. On slow days there appeared to be just one cart for which you had to leave your drivers license to borrow. On busy days the bell hop(s) appear to control the carts and they expect a tip. 13- The on-site laundromat costs $2 per washer load and $2 per dryer load. They only accept quarters. 14- The unit we stayed at this year had an unsecured WiFi shared among a few units but visible to many. It was fast enough to stream videos. I recommend using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service (such as Tunnel Bear - free for up to 500 MBytes/month) for anything sensitive such as account logins and credit cards. Overall, not a fancy place but a great location.

"Great view. Oceanfront"

The people were very courteous and friendly. The rooms were spacious and we had a wonderful view on the 11th floor. The only negative in the room was a sandy floor. The only negative concerning parking is that when really busy, the parking garages were sometimes full and poorly lit.

"Nice Oceanfront"

The resort was quite acceptable altho dated. It was a nice oceanfront location for walking on the beach. Our room was less than satisfactory in that it was studio-very small and cramped. The food was good and the breakfast buffet was excellent and very reasonable. All the staff were very polite and helpful even though we never did get our dishtowels as requested.
