"Numerous visits - one of my preferred Marriott properties"

For better or worse I sleep 180-200 nights a year in a hotel - and most of them, at a Marriott property. I have earned the highest level of Marriotts reward program - "Titanium" - and I travel so much, I've earned "Titanium for life". This doesn't make me a special person - just a person that knows hotels, particularly Marriott. (It may also mean I live a somewhat pathetic life style because I'm so often away from home - but thats another story). Ive had the opportunity to stay at this property 6 times and once it was for 26 days ... so I know it well. It's one of my favorite Marriott locations and in one of my favorite cities to visit (yes, I just said that Allentown is one of my favorite cities to visit!). The rooms are modern, clean and well kept. The concierge lounge is well maintained and stocked. I particularly like the restaurant/bar area and their outstanding craft beer and cocktail selection and the high degree of consistent, standardized service. Bed is comfy, toiletries are fine. Bed linen and towels are ready for a refresh for sure. The piped in too cool for school background music gets a bit repetitive. Self-parking is a hassle. Valet parking is the way to go - but they can get backed up sometimes and it can be hectic if there is a game or concert next door. Would I come back - certainly, and look forward to it!

My wife and I stayed here while in town for a local music event being held just off Cedar Beach Park. The hotel has attached parking, which was very convenient. It is walking distance form several restaurants, bars, a Starbucks, and other spots you may need while you are there. The decor was very classy and you can tell the staff takes a lot of pride in taking care of the hotel. Front desk staff was prompt and polite.

"Beautiful surprise"

We made a last minute reservation at this hotel using some reward points. When I first pulled up I was very confused because they seemed to only offer valet parking and honestly I didn’t want to pay to park. I talked to the valet and he was very friendly and pointed me to a garage around the corner that actually connects to the hotel and is much cheaper. Once we checked in, the rooms were beautiful. The neighborhood itself is fine but it is on the edge of a neighborhood you wouldn’t want to necessarily walk around in. We ended up walking to a restaurant down the street which was fine but nothing great. Then we ended up at the Hamilton for drinks afterwards, and sat outside which was nice. Our bartender was very friendly and then we noticed that there was a bar in the Renaissance and they had live music so we decided to go there. The bar is called “The Dime” because the hotel is an old bank and they had a wonderful band, The Foztones. We sat and listened for quite a while. Our bartender Sam was wonderful and recommended certain drinks. We had her signature cocktail “the new fashioned”, a spin on an old fashioned and it was amazing. Overall that experience made our evening. I’m not sure I need to go back to Allentown anytime soon, but we loved the hotel, the staff and our stay there.

Lots of one way streets in this town so just figuring out where to park took a few blocks of driving. Parking was easy for self park. The hotel is connected to an arena so it's easy to find. It's a little convoluted getting from the garage to the hotel but the signage is good. Hotel and rooms very clean and well maintained. Really no complaints....if you self park be sure to ask for tickets to get out each time and the hotkey charges a flat rate per day. Plenty of places to eat and walk to from the hotel.

I stayed at the Renaissance Allentown while attending a college hockey tournament at PPL Center. I only stayed 1 night, but was very impressed by what I saw and experienced. First of all, the hotel is connected to the PPL Center, so that's an A+++. The hotel was extremely clean, from the common areas, the restaurants, and my room were all spotless. I honestly can't complain about the appearance or cleanliness at all, which isn't something I can say too often these days. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant, I believe it was called The Dime, was good, not great. No real complaints, just nothing to really set it apart from other dining options in the area. I'll be staying there again when college hockey returns to Allentown.
