They are wonderful here! The staff is great and the hotel is clean. We stay here whenever we come down. Located across the street from Seaworld. Offer shuttles to area parks. Breakfast is included and they have a great selection.

All employees were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options and attendants were fastidious keeping the servers full. Entire facility was clean and fresh. My only issues were the room had a horrible wet moldy towel smell. I think the AC unit needs cleaned and sanitized. Also the grout on bathroom floor is very dirty. Grout needs cleaned and sealed.

"Super happy and impressed "
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

Stayed for 2 weeks in September with my partner and daughter. Check in was smooth and was given a great room with a brilliant view. Walking distance to Aquatica and not to far from SeaWorld. We booked via the hotel booking desk for these parks and got a few perks because of that. Walgreens and CVS as well as a few restaurants near by. Bakery directly across the road was great and value for money. Breakfast was super impressive I was expecting something basic but far exceeded and the staff that look after that area are super stars. Great to relax by the pool after long days at the theme parks. Able to walk over to other hotel to purchase drinks from the bar. Sitting there watching the sunsets where amazing. Only thing I found was the scent/smell that’s used in the main lobby area is super strong. We are from a small country town in Australia and we are hoping to bring the entire family of 6 back in 2 years to stay again.

"Poor front desk service"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed December 01, 2019
The front desk service was appalling. There was no greeting, no smile, no acknowledgement of stay preferences and unsatisfactory response to queries. On the positive, the hotel is within walking distance to Seaworld, Aquatica and stop 30 of the I-Ride Trolley bus. The breakfast is very good for this type of hotel.

"Front Desk Clerk Fail"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed November 25, 2019
I take my kids to the SeaWorld Christmas shows every year. This is our 7th year and first stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The good - the beds and pillows were comfortable. The bad - the front desk clerk and other issues with the room. I booked a room two months in advance and requested a roller coaster view room. I called the week before to confirm my request was noted. When we arrived at check-in, we were very excited. There was one desk clerk, Max. I checked in and asked him if we had the room requested and he said no. I asked him to check if there were any available and he said there were not without even looking. I asked where we should park and he just pointed to the back. I then asked if there was a shuttle to SeaWorld the next day. He just handed me a shuttle info sheet. He volunteered no information and it was pulling teeth to get any information out of him. We were not informed of any of the SeaWorld affiliated hotel benefits. I chalked this up to a bad day and asked for our room keys. He told us our room was 507. My kids and I went up to 507 and the neither key worked on the door. I left the kids there and went back downstairs to get the keys rekeyed. When I approached the desk and told Max neither key worked, he took them from me and tried rekeying them. He then opened the key envelope and said, "you were at the wrong room, your room is 607". I said, "This says 507 and that's what you told me." He argued that he did not say that and it was a 6 not a 5. So I just said okay, collected my kids and went to 607. We unpacked and got ready to go out to eat. I went to put our tickets and other valuables in the safe and could not find one. I called the front desk to ask about this and got Max again. He told me there are no safes in the rooms, but there is one at the front desk available to guests, but only when the manager was there and there are no managers on weekends. I found it hard to believe there are no managers working on a holiday weekend, but knew I'd get nowhere with Max, so I just said thank you. Other issues with the room: The bathroom door creaked so loudly that no one could open/close the bathroom door when anyone else was sleeping as it woke them up. The water pressure in the shower was so bad you could not get the shampoo/conditioner out of your hair. The two sets of blinds on the windows were almost impossible to open/close. They had a chain system that also made a loud racket trying to open/close them. The television had a menu/guide under the remote. None of the channels on the tv corresponded to the guide at all. When you clicked on the tv guide on the remote is said "No information programed." You had to click through all the channels to find the weather, or anything. I went to the front desk the next morning before we left for SeaWorld and there were 3 clerks there. They were all quite friendly. I relayed to them my experience from the previous evening and they said that was unlike the desk clerk and he must have been having a bad day. They immediately offered to move my room as there were several roller coaster view rooms available as there are 5 on each floor and 6 floors in the hotel. I declined as we were leaving for the park and did not have time to pack/move/unpack before catching the shuttle. They told me that there was a manager on duty and I should have been told that safety deposit boxes were also available at their sister property, TownePlace Suites across the way. I know that everyone can have a bad day, but in customer service, you need to make sure not to take out your "bad day" on a guest that is spending money on a vacation they have long planned and looked forward to. We will not be staying at this property again.
