Dragon's Lair is now COMPLETELY GONE. So long and thanks for the memories. It was removed along with the movie theater to make way for a new restaurant called The Hangout

[First, a note about our family. We are a little crazy for mini-golf. A number of years ago, we started a family "tournament," and years later, with the girls grown and one married, we still meet almost every year for a week at Myrtle Beach and the 10-game tournament that now includes my son-in-law. We like a course that is challenging but not ridiculous, and we prefer courses with some "whimsy." Think: holes that require you to thread your way through a maze; holes where the best path to a hole-in-one is actually to hit your ball into the water; holes where a SkeeBall shot determines where you land on the lower green. Get the idea? So if you're a serious golfer who wants to practice your putting, you can ignore our ratings. But if you're a family looking for fun, this review might be for you.] When we first started coming to Myrtle Beach, there were two 18-hole courses at this location. One was FAR superior to the other. The inferior course has now been bulldozed and replaced by a "Simpsons 4D" attraction (don't get me started). The remaining course is a lot of fun, with some challenging holes, a fire-breathing dragon who pops out of the mountain occasionally, and a really great musical soundtrack. There's not much shade, so beware on a hot day, and it's one of the more expensive courses in the Myrtle Beach area. But it's worth it if you're spending the day at Broadway and need a break from shops and restaurants.

"Convenient Location at Broadway at the Beach"

We chose to try this mini golf because we were already at Broadway at the Beach. It seemed like they used to have two courses to choose from, but only one was open. The lines were the same here as they were at other mini golf we played on vacation. We had fun, but the course is nothing special!

"Marginally satisfying"

The name sounds great but nothing on the course to symbolize dragons. Other than a hole on boat and one with a catapult it was just a basic putt putt course. Some of the hole layouts were challenging and it moved along quickly. Better options exist for your minature golf dollars.

This is an average course is a good location. Plenty to do at the pavilion. Course needed a bit more designing. No dragon at the Dragon’s Lair Fantasy Golf. Kid friendly and they had a good time.
