"My New Favorite Myrtle Beach Hotel"

The rooms are beautifully appointed, the beds are comfortable, everything is clean and well stocked, the pools are actually kept clean and very well maintained, the views are amazing, and who can turn down those amazing Doubletree cookies you get at check-in? Plus, because of where this resort is located, down the strip a bit on the other side of what used to be a pier (before a hurricane took it out), with the nearest hotel to the South being a bit down the road, the beach feels almost private. Even on a gorgeous Saturday, where the beach to the North was peppered with people, the beach here was quiet and open. It's less than 10 minutes from Broadway at the Beach and the Boardwalk areas, and has a great restaurant and bar on property. The lobby feels welcoming and modern, and the staff were incredibly friendly (even babysitting my son's pet hermit crabs after we had checked out to allow us some fun time before we hit the road). Maybe the only downside I can think to mention is that the take off and landing flight path for the Myrtle Beach Airport heads right over the South side of the hotel. Honestly, during the day, this was a positive thing (my son loved watching the planes) but, flights begin around 6:00am and planes aren't quiet. Still, even that wasn't worth me dropping a star from the review. Truthfully, after years of frequent weekend mini-cations to the area, resort hopping each time, I think we've found the hotel we'll stay at going forward.

Tip: Bring your own snacks, drinks and sandwhich meats...they only have one resturant loctaed on the fishing pier and food is nothing more than below average bar food.

I recently stayed at the Double Tree at Hilton this past week. In a hope to enjoy a small three day trip, I received a call from a hotel employee on my trip to the hotel telling me that I was unable to come and stay that night due to the tropical storm. This is turn made me have to make last minute reservations at a different hotel for that night. The next day, I drove from my first hotel to the Hilton where I checked in with little complications. Later that afternoon I noticed that I had been charged $164.87 two times. Obviously very confused I took the issue to the front desk where the lady explained that one charge was authorization and would be put back into my account 3-5 days after my check out. This was very frustrating because it was not explained to me that I was going to be missing that money while on my vacation. The next morning, the day of my check-out, I received an email with another deduction of $164.87 out of my account, including a $25 resort fee. This was in total over $520 for my stay of one night. I brought this issue to account at the desk and had to waste over an hour of my vacation time for them to tell me that it was a mistake and they were going to fax a release form to my bank and not charge me for any of my stay. Two days later and I had not received a single penny of my money back from this hotel. This is turn made me come in contact with my bank which they stated to me that the hotel had faxed over the wrong dates with the deduction and they could not release any of my money. On top of the fact that now, only two of the payments of $164.87 is pending and the third has gone through, something the hotel told me would not happen. I would just LOVE to know how this hotel charged me over $520 for my one night stay in a standard hotel room that didn’t even have bath towels in it. Currently, I am having to go through a fraud dispute with my bank in attempting to get my money back and also canceling my card because I DO NOT want this hotel to have any more attachments to my money.

My experience at this property was absolutely amazing!!! Hubby and I drove from GA for a few days for a little quiet time and the beach. The check in process was smooth, staff was friendly, and we were even upgraded to a full ocean view unit on 4th floor. They have several pools, great amenities, and a walk on the Springmaid pier is breathtaking at night. Make sure to visit Shannon for a nice cocktail @ Ocean Blue happy hour 50% wine and beer. He plays the best music and very sociable. I love the fact the hotel sits exclusively at the south end of ocean blvd, giving it a private feel and having the option to participate in the crowds. Broadway on the Beach is about 15min away and hotel is close to everything. I was very impressed and we will definitely come back to visit.

We stayed in this hotel for our annual family vacation. We trusted the reviews about cleanliness of the rooms, in our case that was not true, our balcony smelled like pee, and even after cleaning it still smelled badly... another thing is that several of our neighbours smoked on the balconies, and this really annoying when you came to smell ocean, not smoke. On the website it says that the hotel does everything to keep their guest safe from COVID. Well, we saw several staff, specifically housekeeping who didn’t wear masks or wear these masks on their chin. When I saw one of them carrying towels close to their face WITHOUT a mask that made me to check out ASAP. Many of the guests of the hotel also ignored that rule... so it is not the best place to stay in these times. Because the front desk was nice, great view - this is two stars, not one

We stayed here for two nights. We rate this hotel very good considering the covid-19 situation and impact. This resort is dated but very clean. The good part is that it is away from the crowded beaches. It is at the very southern end of Myrtle Beach so the beach is not crowded at all. Same for the many pools. Not crowded. Room doors are external. There are many elevators, but we were able to use the stairs to get to our room. One drawback is the MB airport close by.

I rented this place because it was pet friendly / the first day i got there / they put me on the other side of the hotel wich i had to walk across the whole hotel to get to the doggy park / when i went to the front desk / they apologized and told me they where so sorry that they put me in the wrong room / then i had to take all my stuff and go to the other side of the Hotel because thats where the people that rent with dogs have to be . then when i got to the new room / it was all full of roaches / the room hadnt been dusted in months ./ Roaches all over . Racoons run around all night / everything is old and falling apart/ DONT STAY IN THIS HOTEL / the worse hotel ive ever been to / the worse service also .
