I booked a room via for the weekend. On the site they made the room look like a suite, the pictures were deserving and false advertisement and only found out when i got to the hotel. I decided to pay upfront. DO NOT EVER PAY UPFRONT. Because I already stayed at the doubletree in Vermont i taught that i would be be getting the same quality. The girl at the front desk Lisa was very nice and explained that when you book with a 3rd party they have no control. I showed her the pictures and she too confirmed that it was false advertisement. I went up to the room which was extremely small, there was a weird smell in the hallway and the furniture was all scratched up. I checked out the hotel and left, both Lisa and Sal from confirmed that i would get my money back. I call numerous times hung up on by both the hotel and, sent numerous emails, attempted to contact the manager Matthew Smith left 2 messages and numerous emails. He never called me back its only until I opened a claim with the Hilton hotel that he sent a email addressed to me however he never addressed me , he was speaking to telling them that they should credit me for the first night. I have gone back and forth with them I had to fight with them for them to credit me the half of my money. Had I not payed upfront I would have not had to pay anything cause I was not a guest in the hotel and checked out right away. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. When I opened the claim with Hiltons hotels apparently someone was supposed to contact me within 48 hours. i received an email saying that they would contact me and that is it.

Currently a lot of construction going on nearby but the hotel does a nice job keeping it quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very large & clean. The location is near City Hall area and the University.

It was a great place to stay the staff are very helpful and a pleasure to talk to. I would recommend going to the Double Tree by Hilton, it’s close to many places you will want to visit and walking distance to the BlueJays.

"Nice Stay"

I've stayed at this hotel a few times in the past. Most recently, we went as a family and had a very nice stay. The check-in experience was good but could use some improvement. I had already checked-in on my Hilton app but still needed to go to the front desk. There was a dedicated line for Honors members but it seemed like other guests would just go up another area of reception and get served first (without waiting in line, let alone a priority line). Once I did get to speak to someone though, the service was great. We were promptly given those warm cookies and they had a couple of toys for the kids, which was a nice surprise. The room itself was clean, functional and nicely appointed. The beds were super comfy but the AC was very loud as it cycled on and off through the night. We appreciated the clock radio with usb charging port. Speaking of technology, the wifi was horrendous, even though I supposedly got the premium one for being a Gold member. We weren't there to stare at tablets though, so wasn't a big deal for us. Along the same lines, I found the water to be super hot out of the sink, even when in the neutral position. Not a complaint but just something to be weary of I guess. The breakfast at hotel's restaurant was good but what really stood out was the service. Our waiter, Jumed, really went out of his way to make sure we had an exceptional guest experience. The hotel's location is great, walking distance to several restaurants and bars, and a few additional steps to Chinatown. It's also off a small street, so it's relatively quiet (as quiet as downtown Toronto can get). Overnight parking at the hotel was $35 but fortunately for us, their lot was full, so we were forced to park at a municipal lot (city hall) literally a 2 minute walk away, for less than half the price! I ended up paying $16 from roughly 8 PM to 12 PM the next day. Overall, a pleasant stay and we would definitely stay at this property again.

This was in an excellent spot. Walked to everywhere I needed to be on this trip. Lots of great restaurants in the area as well. The room was comfortable and had a view of the CN Tower from the 25th floor. I managed to work from the desk in the room for a day. Made use of the minis fridge to keep water cold and the safe to keep my things locked up. There was construction noise from outside, but not loud enough to bother me.
