The tour boards from Marine Park at Cascade Locks, in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Enjoy a laid back cruise around the river, under the Bridge of the Gods, past the Native American salmon fishermen and back to the dock.

The Sternwheeler travels alternate directions every hour. If available, stay on board for the second hour at no additional charge if you would like to see both directions of the river.

Snacks and beverages are available for purchase from the full-service bar onboard. There is no assigned seating. Inside seating is not guaranteed.

Is parking provided? 

For cruises departing from Caruthers Landing (110 SE Caruthers St, Portland, OR 97214), there is a private parking lot available at no additional cost. For cruises departing from the Salmon Street Springs Fountain (1010 SW Naito Pkwy, Portland OR 97204), they suggest either the World Trade Center parking garage or Smart Park parking garage on SW Jefferson. Street parking may also be available.

What should I wear?

The sightseeing cruises are casual dress. Wear business casual or dressy casual for meal cruises. High-heeled shoes are not recommended. Instead, opt for solid, non-slip footwear as you will be in a marine environment. Also, consider wearing layered clothing as the climate on the rivers can be unpredictable.

Where is it located?

The cruises can board at either Caruthers Landing or Salmon Street Springs Fountain. Public cruises start boarding 30 minutes prior to departure.

Children are welcome on all cruises except for those cruises specified as limited to age 21 and over.

The Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler is wheelchair accessible on the lower decks with certain restrictions.

Can I bring my camera?

Yes, you'll find lots of great photo opportunities. 

How long is the tour?

The brunch and dinner cruises are 2 hours in duration. The sightseeing cruise is 1 hour. 

What type of food is served? 

All the food is prepared fresh onboard in the ship's galley. Menus change daily. For the plated meal cruises, the cruise offers seafood, beef, poultry, and vegetarian options. Your server will make you aware of available selections shortly after you board. You have the option to pre-order shrimp cocktails, appetizers, desserts, and other items when you make your reservation. Vegetarian options are regularly available as one of the entrées for plated meal cruises. Vegan options are available by request when booking.
