What an excellent tour. "Uncle Charlie" was an excellent guide. Incredibly knowledgeable and uber-friendly! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with him. We give him a 5+++ star rating! Don't hesitate to use this company when touring in Oa'hu. You won't regret it! AND, the lunch...magnificent!

"Excellent company & guide"

Our first impression was that this was a high end tour company. The tour bus was really new and comfortable, and we had a small group of around 20 people. We have never had a tour guide like Charlie before. He was super friendly and knowledgeable, and he treated everyone like a long lost friend. He also gave out bottled water, cloths to clean our hands before lunch and a little souvenir. The tours to see the Missouri and Arizona were informative and moving. But the overall experience was enhanced by Charlie and the comfort of the tour bus. We would definitely look for tours run by this company again

"5 Star Circle Island Tour with Pearl Harbour"

For our 25th wedding anniversary we took a trip to Hawaii. Our friends who had taken a tour with Hoku Tours recommended we try it and ask for their tour guide cousin Kev. I am so glad we did. Cousin Kev adds character, knowledge, humour and passion to this tour, and I can't imagine having experienced this tour with anyone else. This is a long tour, be prepared, and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under the age of 10. We are still catching our breath! There isn't a lot of time at each stop, and their can't be to fit in all the interest points, to see the highlights. Pearl Harbour, you have about 90 minutes, and your beating the crowd. Cousin Kev, details with you where you want to be and where to go and where to meet. He is very good at keeping everyone together and on time. Dole Pineapple Tour- you are on the train that takes you through the plantation, it was interesting. There is a cute shop there, you won't have a lot of time. I'd suggest if you have a partner that one of you stand in line for the Dole Whip ice cream while the other shops. There are many on off stops along the way, with beautiful scenic views. It really is breath taking taking it all in, all the while being entertained by Cousin Kev. The van is comfortable, great air conditioning & USB ports. Cousin Kev treated us to Poi Donuts, apple bananas, cold water, beautiful flower crowns (he even serenaded us and another couple celebrating their anniversary) We felt like family by the end of our tour. "Hawai's history lesson on return trip"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

My husband and I were moved by our experience at Pearl Harbor, reliving the sacrifices of these innocent young men, the errors that prevented the saving of more lives, and meeting with Mr. Sterling Cale, a true survivor of the bombing. Seeing the USS Missouri where the treaty to end WW II was signed was memorable. Our tour guide who was an actor in NYC, etc. was knowledgeable and entertaining. However, on the return trip to our hotel, he gave the "history" of the injustice given from the American government and businessmen that caused Hawaii to lose its sovereignty. He said "Don't blame the messenger" on what he was saying, but we from the mainland were meant to feel guilty about what happened. Our memorable experiences of the morning tours turned to "We are trapped on this bus being bombarded by the vitriol of the injustice the Hocu tour company felt towards what happened to their islands." I would not recommend this tour company if their tour guides are required to give this "history lesson" to those of you who, as Americans, respectfully want to see these memorials and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
