Description

from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
With so many choices, where do you begin? Right here. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is a 135-acre animal theme park located in Vallejo, California. The park includes a plethora of pulse-pounding roller coasters, to gentler options for tots.

At the heart of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is its diverse animal program, where guests, young and old, can enjoy strolling through the LAND area of the park to see beautiful cats, such as African lions, Bengal and Siberian tigers and cougars relaxing in their tranquil outdoor habitats.

In SEA, various marine mammals, such as bottlenose dolphins, Pacific walruses, California sea lions, Pacific harbor seals and our aquatic bird species, endangered African penguins, can be found. Walk through the serene Butterfly Habitat or gaze at the often misunderstood sharks in the Shark Experience

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom offers unique opportunities to meet animals truly up-close and personal. From your first step into the park, you might see exotic parrots and macaws; at the main plaza, or see dolphins swimming via an underwater viewing window at Dolphin Harbor.

For those that wish to engage with animals directly, there are ample opportunities to meet, see, touch and feed a variety of animal species. Each operating day, there are limited spaces available where you can feed a seal or sea lion at Seal Cove or feed a giraffe at the Giraffe Encounter (additional fee required).

Throughout the day, you won’t want to miss any of our entertaining and informational animal presentations. See marine mammal specialists take our two-ton walruses through a series of unbelievable behaviors, and the Odin’s Temple of the Tiger demonstration show is a one-of-a-kind experience that proves that cats really do like to swim.

For fans of our feathered friends, our animal care specialists show that macaws and cockatoos have distinct personalities at Discovery Theater and there’s no doubt that every animal, big or small, has a place in the ecosystem. Not to miss is the Aquaped Waterworks Sea Lion Show and the energetic Drench! dolphin show at Toyota Stadium. During special times like Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park, we re-theme these for the occasion!

"Last minute tickets"
October 2019
We didn't buy tickets for six flags ahead of time, you had to buy them 24 hr. In advance to get a discount on line through six flags web site. The tickets were cheaper on tipster and available for our last minute trip.

"Quick and easy!"
August 2019
I arrived at Six Flags and discovered that admission prices were full price - not the deals I had seen online or even on their own website. I quickly did a search online and Tripster has a great price and I was able to buy same day tickets! I purchased, verified credit card charge, then hopped out of line and straight to the gate with my immediately received ticket scan code from Tripster. Worked perfectly! Will definitely use Tripster again!

"Escelent "spur of the moment" service."
August 2019
My spouse and I decide to have a couple of days mid week for fun. We looked on line for tickent to Six Flags Magic Kingdom on Six Flags web site and discovered that their advertised discount price was ony available if you booked at least 24 hours in advance. :-( . I called Tripster and was able to get the discounted price for the same day. That was nearly a 30% discount making out day at the park even better. (We liked "The Joker" rollercoaster best)

"Six Flags Discovery Kingdom - Vallejo, CA"
July 2019
Purchased the basic flash pass to avoid waiting in long lines, and it worked out great! It wasn't that busy (which surprised me since it was that Saturday of the 4th of July weekend), but the flash pass probably saved us 2-3 hours of time. Saw a couple of shows and rode most of the rides. The dolphin show was good, but used to have a killer whale and no longer do.

Brandon the giraffe, was very gentle. Standing next to a giraffe is the only way to see how truly tall they are. Their tongue is amazing. Noah was informative and friendly. He obviously cares a great deal about his charges. A highly recommended experience.

We had good memories of this park from 2008. Was sooooo good! This time it was the opposite. We went during the fright fest (but decided not to pay the extra to go through the houses as they looked bad). The street scare actors were also really poor. Putting that aside the park itself is a medium size plot so nice and easy to walk to the different rides quite quickly. The queues were short (apart from The Joker which was 30 minutes on both occasions we queued for it) and the rides were very good. Batman looks a bit lame BUT it is awesome. 75% of the coasters were operating but the other 25% weren't and a couple of staff advised during lower seasons they don't have enough staff to man all the rides. That really annoys me as they still charge the same entrance fees so theoretically paying for all those that attend during peak so they don't have to put the prices up. No rain checks on rides not working either. I think that is wrong and leaves a bad vibe! Off peak should be cheaper if you are not offering the same rides as peak customers.

I'll start by saying my family and I have visited six flags more than 50 times this year and until today we've never had a problem. My family and I are arrive at the park as usual only today my nephew was with us so we purchased a guest pass. After entering the park about 10 minutes later I was approached by a security guard who told me that he was doing random ID and pass checks I gave him my past and my id he checked it and then returned to me and asked to check my children's and my husband passed I told him that was ridiculous and I expressed to him that I did not see them checking anybody else's passes any how long story short this made me very upset so I decided I should leave. On my way out I stopped to get a refund for the guest pass which I didn't get to use I waited approximately an hour and a half just to be told that they don't give refunds I'm not sure if this was a racial situation or a game by stuff. Wherever it was I certainly felt singled out and disrespected and I will not be taking my family back there.

"Last day of Freight Fest..."
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed November 04, 2019
We went 11/2 the last Saturday's freight fest for the year. We got to the park at 12:20pm, only 20 minutes after they opened. It took 30 minutes to park, another 30 minutes in line just to get into the park. My kids went straight to DC UNIVERSE and rode everything there except Batman and Medusa. Which we're still so disappointed by. Those 2 rides never had lines less than 2 hours long. With so many people cutting through and getting in front it just wasn't a good use of our 1 day only there. Although those were the 2 rides we'd been really hoping to get on. The dolphin show and penguin exhibit were REALLY cool. The shark aquarium was lack luster, especially if you've ever been to the Mandalay Bay aquarium. The cost of all the extras at thr park still kills me. But it is what it is. A $20 for 2 bottles of water, $60 for 3 unlimited refill soda bottles, $5 for a locker for each ride for the day get your mastercards ready folks! Lol but it is on par for other amusement parks!
