What a disappointing experience...oh wait there wasn’t one. My partner booked a $398 walking Thai Tour With celebrity chef, Jet Tila 4 MONTHS IN ADVANCED. We received confirmation a few days before and flew down to la. 2 days before, she receives a phone call stating it was canceled because it “slipped their mind that the LA marathon was that Sunday”. Being a huge fan, I even brought his book all the way down, we were actually a bit shocked and emotional. Eventually the sadness turned to anger and frustration. What poor planning and lack of professionalism. We were now out of the funds for airfare, accommodations and the cost of staying there as it was the SOLE REASON we went down south. The lady in charge started apologizing and made false promises about a personal skype/FaceTime apology from the chef, which we waited around for like a first date that never shows up and asked us for our address to receive something, which we have not. I would not recommend if you want to avoid being disappointed and let down.

As a native Angeleno myself, I was so impressed with Lisa’s knowledge of Farmer’s Market. Such fascinating info and yummy food. My six friends and I had a blast. I would recommend this tour to anyone who loves hometown history and eating. Thank you, Lisa and Melting Pot Tours. Looking forward to the Old Pasadena tour with Kathy.

My friend an I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and lunch in the patio that included tapas, paella, wine & dessert as well as soft drinks and water. We were also able to bring our own olive oil bottles to be filled, and we were able to shop for Spanish foods & products. The owner of La Espanola Meats was very interesting and personable.
