Three electrical outlets did not work. The water from the sink was brown when it first ran. There was no breakfast as listed on the website. The indoor pool was a room in the garage. Overcharged. No toilet paper in main bathroom. No manager onsite.

"Adequate"

This place is adequate. If you are used to really nice hotels it might not be adequate for you though. It wasn't the cleanest place, but was clean enough. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but were comfortable enough. The lobby has a strong aroma, but it's a decent smell and probably makes the places smell better than it would otherwise. My biggest complaint is that they advertise that they have breakfast, but they don't. We stayed two nights and on the first morning they put out a menu sign with all the great things they are supposed to have at breakfast but they only had cheerios and cinnamon toast crunch and one spoon for six of us. On the second morning there was nothing except juice. And it is not because other people had already eaten and they were running low. There just is no breakfast here. So plan accordingly for that. The rooms have very loud air systems, but this is actually a good thing because they function as white noise and cover up any noises from outside of the room. If you have people above you, you can hear them walking around, but it's not unreasonable as long as you don't have people above you walking around like crazy. The walk to Universal is about a mile. We did it with a family of 6, youngest being barely 7 and it worked out for us. It was actually kind of fun to walk to city walk and we ended up eating dinner on the city walk instead of in the park. The people who work at the front desk are both nice and helpful. It is a lot cheaper than the Sheraton or the Hilton and we feel it was adequate for us as a result.

"Not worth the price."

No shuttle to Universal even though booking through Universal says it does. It's about a two-mile walk, half uphill, to get to Universal and after a full day at the park the last thing you want to do is walk back. Parking on site is charged $27.50 per night which isn't mentioned when booking through Universal. You're better off booking at a hotel further away and paying for parking wherever you go. The very basic "breakfast" is a two-hour window from 7 am to 9 am but food runs out quickly so get there early. The toaster and orange juice dispenser were broken. The indoor pool is small with cloudy water. The shower and toilet are in the same room so it's one or the other while the family waits. The towels are small, so you'll need extras. There are very few open plugs in the rooms if you need to charge your phones or devices and the tv cable only, not a smart tv so you can use your apps. There's only one person at the front desk and they disappear from time to time.

"Do Not Stay Here!"

If you are looking for a review that helps you make a decision, listen up! I don’t know who is giving this place 5 stars, but they are lying. Either they were compensated or are fake because this place is terrible. This is not the hotel you want for you or your family. We have stayed at dozens, if not hundreds of Choice hotels and this was is the absolute worst. We booked this hotel for a family trip to Universal Studios because it is close, but not walking distance because it would require you to cross over the freeway. We booked the family suite that was supposed to have 2 bathrooms. When we arrived we were informed that that room was not available and they only had a room with 1 bathroom. The only reason we booked the room is because we needed 2 bathrooms. It was after 10 0m when we arrived after a long day at Universal, so we had time to try to find another place to stay. He gave us no option but to get 2 separate rooms for an additional $200. So we reluctantly took the room that was not what we had already reserved and prepaid for. Little did we know that this would only be the beginning of our problems. The room itself was actually 2 adjoining rooms and not an actual suite. It also only had 1 working bathroom, with the other bathroom walled off. Also, one of the rooms had NO windows. I have never seen a hotel room with no windows. Iw was dark and damp, like a cave. The ceiling of the room was so low I could touch it and I’m only 5’4”. Everything metal in the bathroom was rusted over, including door hinges, sink and towel racks. There was black mold on the sink, tub and walls with paint chipped or bubbled up. Everything else was covered in thick dust. The furniture was chipped and worn, there were holes in the walls, stained sheets, I literally have never seen a worse hotel. That morning, although we didn’t dare touch it and practically ran out the front doors, the breakfast looked disgusting. There was milk and spilled coffee all over the breakfast bar with no one attending it. The lobby was a mess with breakfast trash everywhere. And the icing on the cake is the price of this place, $300 a night! We are Choice Privileges Platinum members so we complained to member services. The manager refused to give us a penny and only offered us some rewards points to use for another stay. There is nothing good about this hotel and honestly it should be shut down. You do not want your family in this place

These reviews are too nice. There was hair all over my bathroom and in the towels. Scratched old furniture- gross yellow light shades - and I was in the SUITE. Heinous. Only stayed here cause I had points. The room was huge but empty and hence scary. Old and gross.
