Old City Philadelphia in Philadelphia

The original Philadelphia neighborhood, known for such major Colonial sites as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Besty Ross House, is now a hip, nightlife scene loaded with trendy bars and restaurants along South 2nd Street.

The birthplace of American independence now offers fine dining, shopping, and hotels among a diverse business district made up of technology and media professionals.

Many of Old City's residents live in restored 18th-century rowhouses that line some of the country's oldest streets. In addition, around 8,000 residents live in historic townhouses, condominiums, and loft-style high-rise apartments.

Inside the Independence National Historical Park, the celebrated square mile is an international destination that attracts 3.6 million visitors every year.
