Biergarten @ Old World HB in Los Angeles

Biergarten at Old World Huntington Beach is an award-winning German restaurant known for its world-famous Oktoberfest celebrations, authentic brats, and imported beers.

Since 1978, Biergarten at Old World, in the heart of Huntington Beach, California, has hosted Orange County’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration for over 43 years. Both Southern Californians and tourists flock to the Oktoberfest celebrations that run through the fall months. In addition to its famed ice-cold German beer, Old World Biergarten offers pretzels, brats, BBQ chicken, apple strudel, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, and of course Jaegermeister.

With over 10,000 square feet of outdoor Biergarten charm and ‘Old World European’ dining, shopping, and entertainment, Old World is a family-friendly experience. Sunday’s Kinderfest, a tradition that originated in Munich in 1812, has Dachshund Races once a month, where guests can watch the famed Weiner races on the outdoor patio beer garden.

The Biergarten at Old World HB offers takeout and delivery options as well. Visitors are encouraged to check out the Gourmet Market, Bakery & German Deli that offers freshly baked bread, cakes, and the best brats in California. Old World was voted BEST sausage by Hells Kitchen.

The Biergarten HB is a family-owned and operated business. Josef Bischof, a German developer, came to California in 1952 to follow his dream. Bischof built 50 homes above 50 shops in the traditional Bavarian style. He also constructed a restaurant, market, church, gathering hall, and garden gazebo for weddings. Bischof lived on the property of Old World with his wife Dolores for more than 55 years.

Also known as the “Wedding Capital,” the Biergarten at Old World HB hosts countless weddings, fundraisers and business events. Every Sunday in July, patrons can experience German Heritage Day, complete with a brass band, folk dancers, and free food for the first 500 guests.

The shops provide a variety of products and services from collectibles, clocks, Birkenstocks, as well as health and food items. Biergarten hours are from Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner, and on Sundays, Old World is open for brunch.
