The City and County of Honolulu has enacted its Safe Access Oahu program. Effective September 13, all employees and visitors to the Battleship Missouri Memorial, Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum must show proof of full vaccination or a lab generated negative COVID-19 test result taken within the previous 48 hours, as well as valid id to enter. Vaccinations from outside of the United States are not currently valid under this program. Children under 12 years old are exempt.

What are the hours of operation?

9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year’s Day.


What should I wear?

While there is no official dress code to visit the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, we do ask visitors to dress appropriately and respectfully. Swimsuits are not acceptable. Flip flops and sandals are permitted; however, we do encourage visitors to wear close-toed shoes, as there is a lot of walking when visiting the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites.

Where do I catch the free shuttle bus to the museum? 

Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is located on historic Ford Island, an active military base that is accessed by shuttle bus from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. Free shuttles depart approximately every 15 minutes from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. The last shuttle returning visitors to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center leaves the Museum at 5:00 p.m.


Can I bring my camera?

Photography is allowed at our Museum. We are located on an active military base, so please be mindful of any areas that are off-limits for photography, including the Admiral Clarey Bridge that you come across to gain access to Ford Island.


How long is the tour?

The tour takes approximately 60 minutes. 


What safety precautions are in place for the activity (if any)?

For security reasons, no bags are allowed on the shuttle bus to Ford Island. A bag storage facility, located at the Bowfin Submarine Park shuttle bus stop, can store your belongings for a fee of $6.00 per bag or $7.50 per bag for large and/or luggage.
