Description

This tour is moving in more ways than one. Explore and honor three historic sites that shaped the outcome of World War II. From the moment you board the tour bus, you’ll hear interesting facts about WWII and its devastating effects.

You will visit the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center where the United States was catapulted into World War II and its fight in the Pacific began. Next, enjoy a tour of the Battleship Missouri. Knowledgeable guides provide colorful stories about the ship’s history and life at sea during a 35-minute guided tour. Later, honor the freedoms bestowed upon us by all those who bravely served the country since WWI at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.

Before heading back into Waikiki, you’ll drive through historic Honolulu to see Hawaii State Capitol and Honolulu City Hall, Iolani Palace and King Kamehameha Statue, and Kawaiahao Church.

NOTE:
Pearl Harbor is an active military base, therefore a "no bag" policy exists on location, prohibiting purses, handbags, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags, luggage and/or other items that offer concealment.

I want to give a shout out to Elaine, the kind driver of this shuttle in Honolulu, Hawaii (picture attached). I am flying alone without my husband and this is a new experience for me. Let alone being in Hawaii for the first time! Wonderful island and people, no doubt about it. I am happy to say the last person who showed me genuine kindness and excellent customer service was Elaine. A short drive began with a welcoming conversation and ended with a warm hug. This beautiful human being deserves all the praise because I’m sure I’m not the first person she has treated with such respect and heart. THANK YOU. Your kindness and hug warmed my heart, Elaine. Thank you for what you do. You are truly the face of Hawai’i. I will never forget you... Ah hui hou!

Where does the tour depart?

The Stars and Stripes Tour offers hotel pick-up and drop-off at most major hotels in Waikiki or convenient designated pick-up spots if access is not available at your hotel.

How should I dress during the tour?

Casual, comfortable attire is appropriate. There will be moderate walking, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. You may want to put on your sunscreen and bring a hat for the sun, and a light jacket in case of rain. Because Pearl Harbor is a somber, solemn place dedicated to the memory of the service members and civilians who lost their lives, the memorial team asks that guests dress respectfully, no bathing suits or profane t-shirts.

Are gratuities included?

No, gratuities are not included in the cost of the tour.

Can I bring a bag?

Due to security requirements at the USS Arizona Memorial, bags and purses are not allowed. Bags cannot be stored on the tour bus.

Can I bring a camera?

Cameras are permitted but not camera bags.

What is included in the tour?

Are there restrooms?

You’ll find bathrooms at the Visitor Center, but none on the USS Arizona Memorial portion of the tour, which lasts one hour and 15 minutes. We suggest you take a quick bathroom break before you embark on that portion of the tour.

Will we have a lunch break?

There will be a lunch break at Sliders Grill (own expense) located in the Battleship Missouri Memorial. Other than clear bottled water, food and drinks are not allowed in many of the Pearl Harbor sites and eating is not allowed on the bus, so leave your treats at home.
