"Bike Rentals Near Central Park"
May 2016
We booked a 12 hour bike rental. The company is located a few blocks from central park and they provide a basket, bike lock and helmet if you want to wear it. Bike riding through the city streets seems scary, but once we got our bikes in central park, it was very comfortable and safe. Central park is so large, that bike riding was the best way to see the whole park. We even rode our bikes to the American Museum of Natural History and walked through the museum. Doing a museum and bike riding through the park took the whole day... and was nice way to feel peaceful in the park away from the city. I would recommend a bike rental if your looking to see the whole park without having to walk all of it on foot.

Tip: They give you a lock, basket & helmet. Close to central park. You can only ride your bike on the streets in the park, not the walking paths.

"2 hours in the crowd"

On weekends the park is crowded. So it is nice to sit on the great lawn and feel like a local. If you rent a bike, you should know that you are only allowed to ride your bike on one single circular street surrounding the parks attractions and actual green fields. To discover the actual park you need to push your bike through it, which is not a lot of fun. Also, the park is relatively small, so the tour by bike is less than 1 hour. We would do everything walking next time.

The guide was so infantil that this trip was simply a lost of time. All the information he passed us by were unusefull and honestly it could be better to rent a bike on our own and read internet notices regarding Central Park.
