5 Really Good Reasons to Visit Myrtle Beach

May 15, 2019

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is the perfect place to vacation. It offers enough variety to please any crowd.

Plus, with the beach right at your doorstep, it’s easy to dip your toes into a seaside getaway on the Grand Strand. Check out these five reasons to visit Myrtle Beach and you'll be convinced this is where you should book your next getaway.

1) The Beach

There are over 60 miles of coastline stretching across the Grand Strand.  Each section of the beach has a different way for visitors to play.  The southern sections offer a livelier atmosphere, while the northern sections are more peaceful.  No matter where you decide to hit the beach you’re sure to have fun in the sun.  Ride the waves on a boogie board, build a sandcastle or splash in the waves.  The ocean is the main attraction when you visit Myrtle Beach and best of all – it’s free!

2) Myrtle Beach Culture

Two of my favorite places to visit on the Grand Strand are Brookgreen Gardens and Murrell’s Inlet.  At Brookgreen Gardens botanical gardens combine with sculptures to create a South Carolina treasure lauded as one of the Top Gardens in the United States by TripAdvisor.  Murrell’s Inlet is a historic fishing village with a quaint, relaxing atmosphere.  Take a stroll on the Marsh Walk, then stop in at one of the restaurants serving fresh seafood.

3) The Greens

With more than 100 unique and challenging courses in Myrtle Beach, golfers love hitting the greens of the Grand Strand.  Designed by world-renowned architects and located on picturesque grounds, these golf courses are some of the best in the southeast.

4) Entertainment

Shows in Myrtle Beach are one of a kind!  Two of the best shows are The Carolina Opry and One the Show.  Both shows are grand productions that place the spotlight on the supreme talent of the Grand Strand.

5) Restaurants

You can’t Myrtle Beach without visiting one of the Calabash seafood buffets.  The Calabash name is inspired by a small town in North Carolina known so widely for its bountiful seafood harvest it has been dubbed “The Seafood Capital of the World.”  Further, the name Calabash refers to a type of cooking in which seafood is lightly breaded and fried and typically served buffet style.  I recommend The Original Benjamin’s and Bennett’s Calabash Seafood.
