Five of the Best Budget Activities in Myrtle Beach

August 13, 2015

If you’re trying to make the most of your money while in Myrtle Beach, you’re probably looking for things to that are free to do or extremely affordable.

Keep these five budget activities in Myrtle Beach in mind to make the most of your trip to the Grand Strand.

Miniature golf is great family fun

1) Play a Round of Mini-Golf
Myrtle Beach has a myriad of mini-golf courses, with more than 50 themed courses available. On average, cost is $8/adults and $6/kids so it’s an economical way to play while still having fun with the family. A few favorite miniature golf courses include Molten Mountain Golf, Captain Hook's Adventure Golf, Dragon's Lair Fantasy Golf, and Jungle Safari Golf. With these themed mini-golf courses, the entire family can have a blast while saving money!

2) Visit the Vereen Botanical Gardens
Just north of Myrtle Beach, you’ll find the Vereen Botanical Gardens. Beautiful and tranquil, this outdoor oasis is an ideal coastal Carolina setting with hiking trails and wooden boardwalks winding through the Garden’s more than 115 acres. Walk across salt marshes, navigate small islands and take in the scenic views from observation decks overlooking the waterways.  Best of all, visiting is free of charge for all!

3) Go Wild at T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation StationIf you love animals, you’ll love the free tiger exhibit at T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station at Barefoot Landing. Siberian Tigers, Royal White Bengals, Bengal Tigers, and other gorgeous big cats are on full display and you can watch them frolic for free. You can also get your picture taken with a full-grown or baby tiger cub, as well as hand with orangutans and other exotic animals. For the full experience, visit the full 50-acre preserve, home to over 60 big cats. Monkey around with our apes, watch tigers swim, and meet our grey wolves.

4) Enjoy Free Fun at The Market Common
Free events are a signature of The Market Common. Many events happen during the busy summer season, such as Movies Under the Stars, but others happen throughout the year. Stroll through the fresh Farmers Market, take a free horse carriage ride, listen to free Concerts on the Green or attend one of the many free festivals hosted at The Market Common.

5) Search for Seashell Souvenirs Hands down, the best thing about Myrtle Beach is the beach! You can do all sorts of activities in the sand and surf, from Frisbee to sand castle building to sunning and swimming. One of my favorites is searching for seashells—the perfect souvenir for a beach vacation. Luckily, the shells on the sands of Myrtle Beach hold up well, with many remaining unbroken and perfect for a keepsake.

Enjoy these budget activities in Myrtle Beach to make the most of your vacation on the Grand Strand.
