Description

from Seven Magic Mountains Tour
Internationally renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains is a large-scale site-specific public art installation located near Jean Dry Lake and Interstate 15.

Comprised of seven towers of colorful, stacked boulders standing more than thirty feet high and some weighing up to 50,000 pounds, Seven Magic Mountains is situated within the Ivanpah Valley adjacent to Sheep Mountain and the McCullough, Bird Spring, and Goodsprings ranges of mountains. A creative expression of human presence in the desert, Seven Magic Mountains punctuates the Mojave with a poetic burst of form and color.

The exhibition opened May 11, 2016, and was originally scheduled to be on view for two years. Due to the incredible success of Seven Magic Mountains since its opening, artist Ugo Rondinone has expressed a strong desire to explore ways to keep the artwork on view at its current site. The Producers are currently working on an extension plan that would enable Seven Magic Mountains to remain on view for several years into the future.

At the end of 2018, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued a three year permit extension for the artwork, allowing the installation to remain on view through the end of 2021.

Mr. Las Vegas (Dan), took us on a day tour of Valley of Fire. This was beautiful. At 107 degrees it was a little to hot for me but the rest of our party took the 1.2 mile hike. He took pictures of us and forwarded them to us. Very professional and knowledgeable. The Tour was very reasonable. So we booked him for a night tour of Vegas. Started with a picture in front of the Las Vegas sign and ended with a prime rib dinner on Freemont Street. You won't be disappointed with going on a Mr. Las Vegas Tour.

We were going to rent a car and go to the dam on our own, glad we decided to go on this tour. Our tour guide Melissa was great! She knew so much history behind Lake Mead and the Dam. This was a smaller group and lasted about 3-4 hours. We made a couple stops at Lake Mead and then the Dam.

"Just Right Dam Tour"

We received clear communication from them regarding our tour. Bob was our driver/tour guide. He drove us through the valley to Hemenway Park and saw the big horn sheep in the park, on to Lake Meade, the Bridge and then to Hoover Dam. Three hours was a perfect time for this tour from the Las Vegas Strip. We got to walk out onto the bridge and see it from above before going down to the Dam. Cannot say how much we enjoyed the tour and Bob, he was so laid back and awesome. It was a great day. Not too much walking but enough time out of the van walking around the areas.
