ARTECHOUSE DC is an innovative art space that combines technology, science, and art to create immersive and interactive experiences.
You should plan to spend at least 30–45 minutes or longer. Tickets are purchased for individual hour-long sessions, and when space allows, guests are welcome to remain past their hour-long session.
ARTECHOUSE DC is located at 1238 Maryland Ave., SW Washington, DC 20024. The location is a 5–10 minute walk from the Smithsonian and L’Enfant Plaza Metro stops.
ARTECHOUSE DC does not offer or validate parking. There is a parking garage next door and limited street parking.
There isn't a strict dress code. However, they ask that guests refrain from wearing stiletto heels in order to protect the reflective flooring.
ARTECHOUSE DC welcomes visitors of all ages and children under the age of 4 are admitted free. However, certain exhibitions may include a recommended age due to the use of flashing lights, loud sounds, delicate materials, and the like. Because the exhibitions change throughout the year, please reference the description of each exhibition for any age recommendations. Please note that children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Suitcases, luggage, large backpacks, and bags larger than 16” are not permitted in the exhibit space and cannot be checked or left with staff. Strollers are not permitted on the main exhibition floor; however, at ARTECHOUSE DC they can be left in the coatroom or locker area. Please note, these areas are not attended and ARTECHOUSE does not take any responsibility for any lost, missing, stolen, or damaged items.
ARTECHOUSE DC is a fully-accessible space. Mobility devices such as wheelchairs and walkers are allowed on the exhibition floor. Some individual programs may have an intended use or method of interaction that may be difficult for some guests, but each is nonetheless fully maneuverable and compliant with the ADA.
Yes. Photography for personal use is permitted, though they will ask that you refrain from using your flash inside the exhibit space.
ARTECHOUSE DC asks that guests refrain from bringing outside food and beverages, even gum, into the art space in order to protect the technology on site. Bottled water is permitted only in non-exhibit areas. No beverages are permitted on the main exhibition floor.
