"Really nice day!"
August 2019
This was my first time ever going to a six flags and I loved it! It was a lot of fun and it had amazing roller coasters! The only thing I didn’t love was that they would shut all the rides down if it even looked like it might start raining, which was quite a few times throughout the day. Tripster was really easy to use, offered us a great deal, and worked the same as any other ticket.

"WORST AMUSEMENT PARK OF ALL TIME!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed January 18, 2020 NEW
As a teenager loving rides and typically never being let down by an amusement park the vibes at this place were really not it. From the outside of the park the place doesn't look to shabby but once you step foot on the premise you get a sense of some sort of nostalgia that takes you back to when your family took you to a little carnival as a youngin'. The park itself is extremely worn down. The rides aren't too updated and considering six flags is one of the biggest companies known to never disappoint this place was such a let down! Which was unfortunate because if they put in some work they can make the place look really nice! The park is in the middle of nowhere, only went because I was in the area and wanted to test it out. Considering I went mid summer on a breezy day you would expect to see a ton of kids and families but the place was some what ghetto and to be honest you kept seeing the same faces on each ride. Nothing too special about the rides, I think only 2 rides went upside down and theres a total of 7 major rides in the park. Unfortunately this place needs some updating if they want more clients. Most likely will never return, major let down!! Not what you would expect from the SIX FLAGS company....

I have heard many mediocre and bad things about this park, but on my visit, despite being in the 100's, was amazing. The waits were very short considering it was July, the operations were quick, and all the rides were very well maintained. Already planning on driving back up here to visit next summer! If you are in the area, make sure to visit Six Flags America, especially considering its cheap entry cost and proximity to Baltimore and DC.

This park is an annual stop for a friend and I as we make it part of our coaster trip each summer. The park has had its ups and downs over the years. 2019 was a fairly good year for my visit here. The park grounds were fairly clean. Employees were friendly and mostly efficient. Having a membership has great benefits, so I do encourage people to look into that when considering an annual pass. Most of the rides were in operation the day we were there. Re-rides are allowed, which is a great perk for coaster enthusiasts and general public alike. No major issues here. Good times.

"Good Park, Thrilling Cheap Christmas Event!"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed December 03, 2019
Sometimes when I go to my father's house, I usually go to Six Flags America with him because I hold a Platinum Membership (so I have access to every Six Flags park) and from what it seems like sometimes... my dad can get in cheap as well. Pros: - Friendly staff, I was surprised of how nice and accommodating the staff is, especially after hearing all the horror stories on how bad they are. - Plus size friendly on one half of the park, much more friendly for larger people than Six Flags at New Jersey (which I also went), however if you are plus size... forget about going on the Gotham City rides (Superman is unaccommodating, I heard Joker's Jinx has a small seat belt and Batwing has a weight limit). - The Wild One really blew me away... when I first went in August 2017, I was expecting this coaster to be a really rough ride... this ride is filled with airtime and you can't beat that helix. - NO LINES!!!! If you are tired of Busch Gardens, Kings Dominion and HersheyPark being too crowded... this park will be your dream come true, you NEVER have to wait in a line! - Somewhat Autism Friendly, although the music can be loud in some places, Firebird and Joker's Jinx can be really loud and there is a stunt show where they use a gun. - Best Holiday Event in the Northeast (along with Six Flags at New Jersey) that you can go in cheap! Kennywood has basically the baby rides open, Kings Dominion's price is a little heftier and only has two coasters open, same with Busch Gardens and while Dollywood has all of their coasters open for Christmas... it's a lot more expensive than what Six Flags has to offer. You can ride the majority of their coasters without breaking the bank if you want adrenaline for Christmas! Cons: - The speed on how the staff runs the rides and the lines for the disability pass are very... VERY SLOW! I have Autism but yet the park never gets crowded so why bother with getting a pass when I can just jump into the rides without much struggle. The time for the ride to dispatch can also be painfully slow, Batwing goes up to 5 - 9 minutes. I know safety is the number one priority but Busch Gardens does this a lot faster. - The upkeep and condition of the park has a bit to be desired, a couple of the roller coasters (Roar, Mind Eraser, and Firebird) are very rough and bash you around, paint is either fading or chipping, and there is some areas that just need to be changed, of course unlike my second home park. Unlike my two home parks Kennywood and Idlewild where they seriously don't care about how the park is doing (especially Idlewild, they NEED another stand-out ride), Six Flags is trying (although not hard enough) to improve this park and it shows. I actually say this is my third home park because I go to my Dad's and this is basically the option for two or three hours of fun when I go there. For people who think this park is run down, they don't get good enough rides, or constantly compare it to Kings Dominion or Busch Gardens... look at Idlewild and then come back to me. Sure, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a much better park (I went there) but this is a smaller park that focuses on just rides. Overall, a solid park but it does need some improvement here and there.

I am a physician and Neutralized US Citizen . I went to six flag America @ Bowie around 3 PM on Friday on 10/18/2019 With my family .I didn’t know the working hours . The entrance was closed , I saw cars going through the employee entrance and guards Letting the cars pass ; I thought the entrance could be temporarily through the employees entrance which apparently was the only possible inside route so I drove to guards to ask them . The first guard explained to me that the hours of operation are from 5 - 11 PM and tried to showed me the way out . The other guard came out of no where angry and belligerent and started yelling at me saying I am a police and started to show me his badge and threatening me that “He can charge me and do anything he wants to me “. He continued to yell and be Insultive. I told him please don’t yell at me , u can charge me if I did any thing wrong . But he wouldn’t Stop . My wife in the back of the car Was stressed out to death . I also have my 15 months old son in the car . He wouldn’t stop yelling so I started video recording , He continued to yell and telling me to go back to my country . I am a US CITIZEN by the way , He is assuming I am not because of my accent ;regardless it was unethical and distrustful and out right wrong . I have part of the verbal assault Including he telling me to go to my country videotaped . The only reason I think He let me go safe I believe is because another car came Behind me and he didn’t feel safe continuing to threaten me .
