The Ultimate Universal Orlando CityWalk Restaurants Guide

March 5, 2018

When you spend a day at Universal Orlando Resort you can explore Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, immersing yourself in an action-packed atmosphere full of thrilling rides and movie-themed attractions.

Both of these parks, which feature Hogsmeade Village and Diagon Alley respectively, offer delicious places to eat. However, Universal CityWalk restaurants are totally worth checking out too. After all, Universal Orlando CityWalk is a hip, modern entertainment and dining zone perfect for a break from the parks or for an excursion all it's own.

A variety of fresh flavors and eclectic cuisines are presented at Universal Orlando CityWalk. Everything from comfort food to spicy Latin fare and Asian fusion find a place on restaurant menus. Many CityWalk restaurants here cater to adults, with more than just your typical theme park food gracing tables.

CityWalk Restaurants: Table Service

Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food

A festive, fun atmosphere greets guests at Antojitos.  Located at the former site of The Latin Quarter, the restaurant celebrates Mexican street culture and cuisine.  Order from their large tequila section to get your night started.  Then, dip your chips in one of the spicy fresh salsas.  The tableside guacamole bursts with flavor, too.  Same room for the main course, though.   Mexican menu items run the gamut from enchiladas to burritos to fajitas and tacos, each with a unique twist. I recommend the Chile Relleno de la Abuelita, Carnitas Lupita or El Burito Revolucionario. Each combines the rich flavors, large portion sizes and perfectly seasoned.

Bob Marley – A Tribute to Freedom

Share the love at Bob Marley’s, a Jamaican-influenced restaurant serving appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Some of the most popular menu items are Oxtail Stew and a Jamaican Curry Chicken. The atmosphere will appeal to any Marley fan as it is a faithful recreation of the singer’s Jamaica home, and has various artifacts throughout celebrating his life, music, and career.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant and Market

The company made famous by the movie Forrest Gump comes to life at CityWalk. Shrimp, shrimp and more shrimp highlight this menu, although you can also find steaks and ribs. The family-friendly stop is an entertaining one as memorabilia from Forrest Gump lines the walls of the restaurant.

Emeril’s Orlando

Perfect for that special night out, Emeril’s Orlando is an upscale restaurant with a flavorful menu created by Chef Emeril Lagasse. Unique dishes, quality ingredients, and first-rate service create the best place to dine at CityWalk. “Kick it up a notch” with Emeril’s Creole-infused, New Orleans inspired creations. As far as CityWalk restaurants go, I highly recommend reservations for Emeril’s Orlando. This establishment is always busy.

Hard Rock Café Orlando

The eye-catching Hard Rock Café Orlando is designed like the Roman Colosseum and it shines across the lagoon of Universal CityWalk. The sight is quite an impressive one. Inside the café, you’ll see decades of rock ‘n roll memorabilia. Classic American cuisine like hamburgers, steaks, and barbeque are choice selections. Save room for dessert – the Key Lime Pie is a tart yet sweet finish worth the wait.

 Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville

Step into the laidback, carefree Margaritaville – where all your worries drift away and sunshine days are endless. Tropical, beachy and oh-so-refreshing Margaritaville at CityWalk is one of my favorite dining options. The coconut shrimp are crunchy, sweet and plump and the serving is plentiful. Plus, the drinks here are a signature item so when in Margaritaville do as the villagers do – drink margaritas!

NBA City

Take it the court at NBA City, a basketball-themed restaurant serving American fare with a contemporary twist. Entrees range from Chicken Bleu Cheese Pasta and Sesame Crusted Salmon to Maple Glazed Pork Chops, Cajun Stuffed Chicken, and Oak-Smoked Baby Back Ribs. Take a shot at the menu, which has family-friendly options like hamburgers and steaks too.

Pat O’Brien’s

An authentic reproduction of New Orleans' favorite watering hole, Pat O’Brien’s is fun day or night. New Orleans-style dishes like Crawfish Nachos, N'awlins Po'Boy, and Bourbon Street Chicken are some of my favorite menu items. Dueling pianos perform nightly creating a lively atmosphere where it’s Mardi Gras every night. We recommend sitting in the courtyard for the best New Orleans-inspired experience.

The Cowfish

The name says it all, as this restaurant combines burgers with sushi for a menu that is unique, to say the least.  It also solves the conundrum of getting your sushi fix when others in your group aren't a fan.  A customizable gourmet burger menu features all-natural, mouth-watering stacks topped with everything from jalapeno poppers to peanut butter to tomato onion jam.  At the sushi bar, fresh fusion rolls are a favorite.  The King's Roll and The Boss are two standouts.

VIVO Italian Kitchen

Comfort food at its best is found at VIVO Italian Kitchen.  Traditional Italian food made with classic recipes shines at the restaurant that replaced Pastamore.  The upgrade has been well received, especially as the food is the best Italian you'll find at Universal Orlando CityWalk.  The sleek, modern design showcases an open kitchen, complete with a hanging tree for the freshly made pasta.  Squid Ink Pasta, Risotto with Short Ribs, Pear-Stuffed Fucheti, Tagliatelle & Fennel Sausage and Bucatini with Meatballs are quickly becoming favorites of patrons.
