Description

from Vegas Balloon Rides
Passengers will meet their pilot and crew approximately 90 minutes prior to sunrise. While that does make for an early morning, launching in a hot air balloon while the morning sun simultaneously continues to make its way above the peaks of the desert mountains is an experience like none other!

Guests will be transported from the Vegas Balloon Rides check-in office to the launch field in Pahrump, just an hour west of the Las Vegas Strip. During your flight, which lasts approximately 45-60 minutes, you will have a spectacular bird's eye view of the Spring and Nopah Mountain Ranges, expansive and breathtaking views of Death Valley, and far-reaching sights into Eastern California. As you drift silently and peacefully over the countryside, you can watch for desert wildlife, take that all-important selfie, and talk with envious onlookers down below. Upon landing, passengers participate in a traditional Champagne toast and hear the story of how hot air ballooning began and how it led to modern-day aviation as we know it.

Hot air ballooning is truly a bucket list item and something you must do during your visit to Las Vegas. Get away from the hustle and bustle of the Strip and join us on a journey that will simply take your breath away!

Frequently Asked Questions about Vegas Balloon Rides

What time are the balloon flights?

The Vegas Balloon Rides meet at least 1 hour before sunrise.

Where do we meet?

The address to the meeting location is 4390 Polaris Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89103.

Where will the balloon land?

A hot air balloon flight depends on wind speed and direction, so every flight differs in Las Vegas, and the landing sites vary daily.

How long are flights?

On average, passenger flights are approximately one hour in length. Some flights can vary from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours, depending on the amount of fuel on board. The passenger's combined weight, the temperature of the air, and when the pilot finds a suitable landing field.

How big is the hot air balloon?

Vegas Balloons flies balloons 210,000 cubic ft to 310,000 cubic ft in size. They typically carry 8-12 passengers, making it easy to accommodate families and groups. The large baskets make for more space per person; the balloons have turning vents so the pilot can rotate the balloon during flight, giving everyone a 360-degree view.

How many people are in the balloon?

The hot air balloons, plus the pilot, carry a maximum of 12 passengers. Our gondolas (baskets) have partitioned compartments for passenger comfort and safety.

Can I take a camera and/or binoculars?

There is always plenty to photograph and see both prior to the flight, during, and afterward. You may bring a video camera also. We recommend that you have a suitable soft case, including a carry strap, with you to stow and protect the camera during the landing. Bring extra memory cards and batteries. Panoramic cameras are excellent for scenery.

What type of clothing should we wear?

It is suggested to wear long pants, a light jacket, a hat, and NO sandals or high heels. We do not fly high enough for a temperature change, so plan to dress for the temperature of the day.

What type of weather conditions are needed to fly?

Hot Air Balloon passenger flights take place in winds less than 6 knots, with no rain or approaching storms within 100 miles. Flights also require at least 3 miles of visibility and ceilings of at least 3000 feet.

What can cause a cancellation of a flight?

Flights will sometimes have to be canceled as the safety of the passengers, crew, and equipment is of utmost priority. Various factors can cause cancellation, such as weather conditions, equipment malfunction, or pilot injury or illness. Your safety is a concern, and Vegas Balloon Rides will not fly if this is jeopardized. If your flight is canceled, you can reschedule for another flight.

Is Vegas Balloon insured?

Yes, they are insured by an American-owned, A+-rated insurance company.
