"Nice room but terrible service"

I stayed in a panoramic suite for 3 nights. Initially I was super excited about the size and quality of the suite — ridiculous views, fantastic layout, huge compared to comparably priced rooms anywhere else. The indoor walkways to Bellagio and Cosmopolitan were also incredibly fast and convenient, and I liked that they and Aria were a 2 minute walk away but there was no casino immediately downstairs (or the smoking and noise). However, the look of it was deceiving. Among many other issues, the suite was dusty and dirty, and reeked of smoke — even though Vdara is supposedly a non-smoking property. Even when I told the front desk, they promised to bring in air purifiers but they did not. I had to ask again the next day. Even after the air purification system was supposedly run, the suite still reeked of cigarette smoke. Service was atrocious. My room was not serviced even when I specifically called down at noon to ask for it to be serviced while I was going to be out of the room that day. When I came back in the evening and found that no one had come, I called again and was promised housekeeping would come right away before I went to sleep. An hour later, no one had come. I called yet again and was put on hold for 20 minutes and transferred to 3 different people. Absurd. Currently sitting here waiting up for anyone to come or get back to me, so I can go to bed. Ugh.

"Still a Solid Choice Mid-Strip"

Writing bc I saw a lot of negative reviews about Vdara cleanliness and was reluctant to stay here again, tho in the past it was our go-to due to being non-smoking, smaller w no casino, and great location mid-strip. Pros: all staff were super helpful and friendly. Room showed a little wear & tear, was immaculately clean and everything worked as expected. Always nice to have a mini-fridge for waters and a microwave to warm up your breakfast croissants fr Aria. Cons: I hate to take off a full star for this - wish TA would let u do half-stars - but other reviewers are correct. Vdara/MGM is not clear that coffee and water on the counter are not complimentary. We were not duped but I could see why others were. Vdara be like other hotels w a clear and easy to read sign that shows the prices of these things. Thanks to all staff. Look forward to seeing you again.

I have been repeat Vdara guest for many years and I have stayed there approximately 40 times. For me, there are pluses and minuses to consider when reserving a room there. In general, Vdara is a quieter hotel overall. There's no casino, and the guests tend to be more mature. In addition, the room walls seem to do a good job of blocking out unwanted noise. That being said, the hotel management (or lack thereof), customer service and upkeep of guest rooms has gone downhill. As a regular guest, I know what to expect. I stay at Vdara specifically to have a quiet refuge in a central strip location and nothing more.

My views on this hotel are very mixed, I booked this purely because it didn't have a casino and I wanted something a little quieter for a few days while also having the base of a quality hotel, the hotel itself is really lovely, the rooms, decor and general feel of the place I cannot fault but as I booked 3 rooms for me my wife and separate rooms for the kids I expected a little better than I got. Upon arrival we waited and waited for out rooms, check in is supposed to be 4 o clock but it was well after 6 before we could get in any of the rooms, not a good start. Staff were apologetic but you could just tell this was probably the norm, no offer of a drink or anything as we waited beside our cases in the reception. But what is the tipping point for me is the coffee making facility in the room, we always knew not to touch the rip off mini bar but when you have 2 paper cups with coffee pods on the bench and a bottle of water I would have expected it to be complimentary like all other hotels..... oh no how wrong could you be. Just by picking them up I was charged around 18 dollars for the two cups of coffee and to rub salt in the wound, 14 dollars for the bottle of water you have to use to make it. So it cost upwards of 30 dollars for two measly coffees in the room, I dont mind paying for anything if the costs are reasonable, but this is just disgusting. I would gladly have came back on my next visit to vegas but just the sheer greed has made my mind up, I will never step foot in this place again. And I really hope this review puts other people off and vdara realises they are going to lose custom by ripping people off like this.
