"Clean property, housekeeping took my property "

Housekeeping took a $200 custom designer shirt from my room. I was told to open a ticket with lost and found and have not heard back, nor received compensation. Even though there was a kitchenette, the dishes and pots needed to be requested. The small fridge was a challenge to put in leftovers. The room is clean, appliances are high end, and the property is centrally located right off the strip. If you want a property slightly away from casinos but walkable, this would be an option. However, I don't like being concerned about my property being taken.

The good: 1. If you are looking for a family friendly, no casino, no smoke hotel this is a good choice. 2. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Somewhat dated, but that was not an issue. 3. Kitchenette with microwave, fridge and a stove. You have to call and ask for kitchen utensils which is a waste of time but fine. Now for the downright ridiculous: 1. No complimentary in room coffee or tea. But there’s no clear signage, they have coffee kits and water and gummies and cookies out on display. A vague note in small print that says “minibar items are charged and find the menu for pricing”. But there’s NO indication that the coffee/tea kits are also charged. If I am not using the minibar - I had no incentive to go check for pricing. 2. At checkout - (we had two rooms) they prepared statements for both rooms and charged for things we had not consumed. But since I had opened coffee kits (one only to use to measure water) I paid $54 for 3 kits. This is the worst I have seen in the hospitality industry and I have traveled the world over. 3. Our travel agent had provided vouchers for the reservation that indicated parking was $10. As others mentioned, I was forced to go through Valet and BellHop at check-in - so I had really no choice. I was charged $40 per night for Valet. When I brought this up, the front desk agent was rude and condescending. I was asked to fwd emails, which I did and then was told that “they had not seen this before and I should go back to my travel agent to ask for reimbursement”. Again - Terrible customer service skills and no offer to even provide a discounted rate for a car that sat there for 2 nights and was not called other than at checkout. 4. That whole encounter left me wondering why this was on tripadvisors’ chosen list. No customer minds paying for good service, but Vdara was clearly a money grabbing establishment, looking to fleece customers (many of whom might be not even in their right minds after a night of partying). I was sober, and was shocked at their poor service and overpriced lackluster offerings. Next time, I’d rather stay at a Marriott. The only reason to give 3 stars, is for the room itself and the prompt service by bell hop and valet.

"Lackluster Service for 4-star Hotel."

Tried to like it! Rooms are nice but service was an embarrassment for a 4-star hotel. Here is just one example; ice machine on our floor does not work (down all day….no maintenance). We tried to go to another floor to get ice but hotel prohibits guests from accessing ice machines on other floors. I called house keeping asked in they could bring up ice, they agree to send someone . 30 minutes later no ice. Called room service, same request, 30 minutes later no ice. Asked for a hotel manager, got bounced 3 times before reaching an operations manager. Still no ice at time writing this review. Also disappointed with pool hours. High resort fees but pool closes at 5pm…it’s 90 degrees out and spring break time. Other pools at non MGM hotels open until 9pm or later.

Great hotel! Excellent view! Hotel doesn't have the same facilities as surrounding hotels however it’s connected to the Bellagio and cosmopolitan so it just feels like one big hotel. Clean towels every day, ice machine on the hotel room floor. Clean, spacious room with an excellent view. Hotel is in a prime location. Fantastic stay! Xx

My wife and I have just returned from a 7 night stay at the VDARA travelling from the UK. Last year we stayed at the Bellagio and being only our second time in Vegas, this is our only comparison. Firstly, between the Bellagio and Vdara - believe it or not - we preferred the Vdara. Yes, the rooms are not as pristine and overall could do with refurbishment but for reasons below we preferred it. It is easy to get to from the airport. Cost was USD 25. As it is a small hotel without a casino it meant drop offs were close to the main lobby entrance. Likewise, for trips and Lyft or Uber the pick up point is outside the main entrance so no long walk to a specific pick up point getting lost in the huge casino hotels. Check in / Check out - no queues and very easy process. We had booked a fountain view room and on check in asked for a high floor which was provided - floor 41. The view was outstanding and I loved looking at the changing displays on the Sphere. We used the following hotel facilities: Vice Versa bar - had a couple of drinks. Service was okay, nothing outstanding but drinks were good. Sat outside by a fire pit - nice ambience. Food looked good. Starbucks - no big queues and good service although not knowledgeable on which food products contained gluten (I am a coeliac so allergic to gluten). Their egg bites are gluten free but they said otherwise. Cafe / Shop - excellent! We bought drinks, coffee and food during the week. Good service and quality providing take-out for all meals if needed or tables to sit at. They were very helpful when asking about gluten free options. We requested kitchen utensils for the room which were promptly provided whilst we went out. There was already a coffee machine which we didn't use, but we were provided with a kettle, mugs, plates, bowls and cutlery (plastic). We used the fridge and microwave - both in perfect working order and clean. The room itself was a little outdated and, as mentioned earlier, could ideally due a refurbishment. However, it was clean and very spacious. Plenty of room to eat at the small dining table, a small lounge area, bedroom area and bathroom complete with bath, separate shower, two sinks and toilet. We particularly liked the small lounge area with its own television. On our last couple of days, my wife was ill and it was nice for me to sit in the lounge watching TV without disturbing her too much. On the TV you have Paramount Movies free of charge and a Bellagio fountain channel. The bed was large and comfortable but we didn't like the pillows (nothing better than going home to your own pillows!!). Plenty of storage space too. We loved the location of the Vdara. Being central strip and connected via internal walkways to both the Bellagio and Cosmopolitan makes it feel part of their hotels too and it's nice to escape back to the peace and quiet at Vdara. Likewise, step outside the main lobby entrance and walk left and within 2 minutes you are in the Aria. In summary, although not as "pristine" as the Bellagio, we both concluded that when we come to Vegas again, we would in all likelihood stay at the Vdara again - depending on price options - and I am now sat at my desk already missing that view.
