"Much Respect deserved"

We loved our visit to the USS Midway. I mean, where else can you actually get on a battleship. My love and pride for our military went up a few notches after seeing it. It’s close to Seaport Village so you can do both.

"Well organized, well put together"
April 2019
We thought we would only need a few hours, but we were the first on the ship and we stayed all day. Take the little speaker thing they give you when you first walk in. They did a really nice job of making small pieces of information come to life with first hand experiences of the men who lived it. Also sit and listen to the guys in the yellow hats. So informative and interesting. The movie was better than expected.

Tip: go to the tour of "the Island" first. go through all the small parts of the ship -- so much to see.

"No seasickness here!"
December 2018
We prebought our tickets and moved right along. For as long as the lines were, there was plenty of room to pause and take pictures. Seeing the demonstrations at top deck was very informative. The kids enjoyed sitting in the planes and helicopters. Walking thru the gully’s to see sleeping quarters, kitchen and laundry was great. Would return again.

"A tip to see this magnificent ship for free"

I was trying to see the Midway a number of times I've been to San Diego but could not have so much time available (people say 3 hrs needed). I eventually did it last week. As I was studying their website for any discounts, I saw that they had the Pearl Harbor anniversary commemoration on Dec. 7. That event -- with speeches, history lessons, and wreath-laying (throwing them into the bay, really) -- would be of interest to me in any case, but the icing on the cake was that the event was free. The event was from 9 to 10 am, before the admission starts at 10. Once there, the attendees were allowed to stay on board for as long as they wanted, which I did. I thought that wouldn't need 3 hours to see the ship, but what do you know? It took me at least that long. Even though it was raining, the ship was very interesting to explore. Highly recommended!

Good half day out. Plenty of volunteers to help you & some interesting stuff if your willing to listen. Only thing is it seemed a bit on the expensive side but something I’d recommend if you have time.

"Incredible history, views and a great family experience"

We had an incredible time on the USS Midway. We had some friends in town from the East Coast and they were so excited to experience the Museum. They have various planes, including some interactive areas for kids, a small area with snacks and souvenirs, as well as Veterans that tell stories, give tours, answer questions and explain historical points from the USS Midway. Our family and friends had a great time on the ship, and were able to walk to many nearby restaurants and shops for the remainder of the day. They offer deals for Military, Police, Fire, First Responders (free) and Students (discounted) so don't forget your ID! Parking: I would recommend using the paid lot near the Hornblower with the white gates (if the museum lot is full).Parking is very hard to come by in the area and because the museum lot is usually full on weekends. The next lot over has security and its not too pricey.
