This show is amazing!! A must see when you are visiting New York. My auntie had a nose bleed during the second half, and she was very looked after by the staff, the manager even offered for her to come back a different day as she had missed quite a bit! We couldn’t as we were going home, but the service really made a difference to our experience! Thank you!

Can’t even begin to fathom the 5 star reviews. Show is a complete disappointment. I find no interest in watching humans pretend to be lions. Why they couldn’t have actual lion costumes for the actors makes no sense. Takes away the whole essence of actual lions as characters. Scar is also a disappointment. Definitely not menacing enough as a character. I was falling asleep at times The hyenas were good though. Thumbs down all the way. How difficult is it to make actual costumes for Simba and Mufasa? Waste of $500.

"Rude crowd, indifferent staff"

Took my family to see The Lion King on Broadway today at matinee and was very disappointed in the quality of the experience because of the theater's lax policy toward cell phone use. Several parties around us (I counted at least 4) consistently used their phones throughout the show, either recording it, taking pictures, randomly texting or even browsing Instagram. This was very distracting to us yet no usher showed up or tried to discourage their behavior at any point. Ultimately we asked two of them closer to us to refrain from using their phones, but they scoffed at our polite request and ignored it. Separately, latecomers were allowed to sit at anytime, even someone who arrived 40 minutes late. Having people walking in front of us with their flashlights on and talking should not be allowed after a shorter grace period. Spending $500+ for an afternoon event with the family is not an investment that we take lightly and we feel like our experience was really negatively affected because of rude customers and the unacceptable absence of enforcement by the staff. The show itself was good, even if a bit tired at this point after so many years. Some actors were not as good as their roles demanded, falling short on the delivery. Not really going back after today's regrettable experience

"Massive disappointment."

This show was not the quality production we expected and we are not difficult to please. The costumes and sets and spectacle were awesome. However, the acting (not everyone) was sub-par for a Broadway production. Especially Simba. He was not a good actor. And didn’t have the voice necessary to pull this part off. Also, the directer needs to be fired. The entire pacing was extremely rushed. Moments of necessary dramatic pause were non-existent. This was a choice of the director, and it was a bad choice. This was perhaps the worst element that bothered us the most. After paying almost $900 for three tickets, this was a massive disappointment.
