My daughters and I are amateur ghost hunters. I'm the total skeptic (AKA Ghost Bait), my youngest daughter is a staunch believer, and my older daughter is on the fence - the ideal team! We booked the Ripley's after-hours tour on a whim. The guides were very professional and knowledgeable. They briefly covered the castle's history, tragedies, hot spots, and hunting tools (provided free of charge or bring your own) quite well then set us free to explore the dark museum on our own. Ghost hunting aside, it was fun exploring this winding maze of oddities and looming manikins in darkness. (Be SURE to explore the bathtub exhibit carefully.) No hits or odd occurrences on this night, but the adventure was high. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Tonight, we went ghost hunting at Ripley's Believe It or Not!. Our host for the event - Olivia - informed us about the history of the building and paranormal activity that happens there. One of the stories is about a little girl on the second story of the building. I brought my P-SB11-ANC spirit box with adjustable noise control. During our spirit box session on the second floor, we got some extremely clear and intelligent responses followed by some alarming activity. Initially, we were getting nothing while I was holding the spirit box in my hands. I remembered I was wearing Black Tourmaline around my neck for protection - this stone is known to protect against electromagnetic energy as well. So, I sat the spirit box down on the floor a foot or so in front of me and sat myself down - criss-cross, applesauce. We were then greeted with a "Hi" and when I asked how old the spirit was, it responded with "Seven". After this response, my spirit box's noise control was unable to block a high, outrageously loud frequency and white noise. It persisted to a duration that made me have to pick it up and inspect it. I could do nothing to stop the noise short of turning it off - which I did not do. I asked if the spirit "would like us to leave it alone" - the noise continued. When I said, "I'll take that as we should leave it alone," and turned around to walk the other direction, the noise immediately stopped. After that, I tried using my spirit box in the lobby and it refused to work properly. The lights on the spirit box dimmed and it was as if the battery was drained. However, it was on a brand new Energizer brand battery and the spirit box itself is brand new - I bought it just two days ago. After continuing the investigation with equipment borrowed from Ripley's, it had reached time to shut it down and go home. As we were leaving, I asked Olivia how old the girl on the second story was supposed to be - a question I thought we might not get a definite answer to - and she told us around "Seven or eight" years old. Once we got back to the hotel, my spirit box was operating completely normal. Either something didn't want the little girl communicating with us or the girl herself had decided she didn't want to communicate further.

Waste of money .. to walk around a museum closed in the dark and just pay money for it .. Robin had an angry face from the moment we arrived and was really mean to children .. not recommended
