The hotel experience doesn't quite measure up to neither its brand nor the high room rates. The rooms are tiny, not even a sofa or anything comfortable to sit on. The moldy smell is the crown jewel of this place which is unfortunate. Balcony is a nice feature - on paper, but its not private. Although the gentleman at the front desk was extraordinarily pleasant, the general front desk experience is quite slow. I observed 2 agents servicing 1 guest while waiting in line. F&B credit for upper elites has its own interpretation here that contradicts with Hilton. According to front desk, if you start using your credit, it must be used by midnight or the remaining portion will be forfeited? On the bright side, the restaraunt is expensive enough so that the f&b can be spent and overspent at once. Parking-valet only- is $40 which is justifiable by busy location; however, if you can walk 5 mins to city garage, it is $5 to park there after 5pm. Overall, a dissapointing experience.

Fantastic location. Right in the historic district close to the fort, shops and restaurants. Hotel looks like a group of colonial buildings and in keeping with the historic district. Rooms were clean and extremely comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Minor inconvenience of restaurant not being fully open due to the renovation but that was almost complete.

I have stayed here many times over the the last 8 years for work meetings and chose this hotel for the “Sing out Loud” festival this past weekend since it only a 15 minute walk from Francis Field. The hotel is under renovation but the staff is attentive and the renovated rooms (and bathrooms!) have made this a VERY nice hotel. Not to mention the location…across the street from the Fort and St. George street is right out the back door. We will be back!

This hotel was a terrible experience. They didn’t notify me that there is a major renovation taking place until the night before we got there. Too late to make changes. The lobby and restaurant are completely torn up and when we tried to use the pool there was construction equipment there. So nowhere to be other than your room. They did upgrade our room and while room was ok - the smell of must and mold was overwhelming. I requested that the manager approve free parking due to the very big inconvenience and not only said no but said he prefer we leave (and lose two nights of revenue) than give us an $80 credit. Location is good and staff (other than the manager) was helpful and friendly. There are great hotels in the area and I regret having chosen this one. Never again!
