Description

from Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum
Ripley's St. Augustine is the first & Oldest Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium!

Although Robert Ripley was a frequent visitor to St. Augustine and stayed in the building often, he did not create the museum. He died in 1949 and a year after his death, the Castle Warden was purchased to be the ideal, uniquely glamorous building to house his collections.

Collections that include real shrunken human heads, rosaries made of human bone, and a drum kit featuring two human skulls fused together and covered with human skin. Those and 800 other unique exhibits, artifacts, artwork and so much more await you and your family inside the museum right here in St. Augustine!

NOTE: In order to board the Ghost Train you must present your voucher and Photo ID at the Ripley’s Ghost Parlor at least 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time. Be sure to bring along a digital camera and any other recording gear you wish.

Our family really enjoyed our trip to Ripley's. There are a lot of things to see and experience. Our young twins loved the hands-on experiences and didn't want to leave. Yes...visit, enjoy the adventure, and see/learn something new and exciting!

"Family fun"
April 2018
We purchased tickets online. Ticket prices are very affordable. This is an activity appropriate for the whole family. There are quite a bit of interactive things/activities throughout the museum. We brought children ranging from 7 to 10 years of age and all of them thoroughly enjoyed the museum. Every thing was displayed in an interesting manner and an educational manner. Everyone learned something here while having a blast! Bring some change with you because some of the interactive activities do require money while others are free. We did one activity that was $1 and still would have had a blast had we not done that activity. There are some displays set up for a good photo op. We spent about three hours in the museum and no one once complained about being bored. I would have been able to spend more time and would be willing to go back!

Tip: Go potty before you start the museum because there isn't one throughout and you have to exit the museum to use one if you've already started going through, but they will let you back in. Bring change for some interactive activities. Purchase tickets online because they're slightly cheaper and you get into the museum quicker.

This would be a fun tour for tweens and families. Not appropriate for younger children. Tram tour was fun at night and Ripley's museum at night even more fun and spooky. Not really wheelchair friendly. Personally, as an semi-avid ghost hunter, I would have enjoyed a more personal tour which I do believe they offer.

I normally skip Ripley's because they all start looking the same after awhile. But when I found out that this was the very first one, I had to go. It contains the usual Ripley's stuff, but I really enjoyed looking at all the displays on the first floor after going through the turnstiles. There were also some unique pieces I haven't seen in other Ripley's. The statue of David outside and the story behind it was interesting as well as the house made inside a tree trunk. Overall, I found it a pleasing visit and I am glad that we stopped in.

"Creepy, Unique, and Fun"

Such a crazy collection of unique oddities! We got the combo that included the trolley tour too which was nice to explore St Augustine. Honestly downtown St Augustine is small enough to easily walk everywhere but the Fountain of Youth, Big Cross, etc are a bit too far to walk of those are on your to do list so it was nice having transportation to get everywhere. The museum had quite the variety of exhibits too that is definitely fun for all ages! A few things will probably be scary for younger kids but as long as parents peek ahead a little they can skip those exhibits.

I had a great visit to this location. There is a lot to see and you can make these cool wax hands. They hurt like heck so I suggest you make your kids do them. The cold water is the part that hurts so it won't actually hurt you.

There were a few neat things but not many really amazing ones. We also followed a large group from a camp which made it hard to go through at the pace we wanted.
