We went to St. Augustine for "nights of lights" this past weekend (Thanksgiving weekend) and stayed at The Ponce. What a pleasant surprise! It had a 7.9 out of 10 rating on Booking.com but it should be a lot higher than that. Great location, easy to walk to St. George St and all the downtown attractions, the room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, lots of pillows, nice fluffy towels and an amazing shower head! The staff was very nice and accommodating. I would stay on the back side next time, looking out at the St. Augustine River, for the view and it would be a little quieter. They also have a Latin restaurant on site that smelled amazing but we didn't get to eat there because they were slammed! Found it quite by accident but will stay there next time!

The room was clean and neat. It also supplied an air fryer. It had a hotel refrigerator and a coffee maker and a microwave. The front desk was very helpful with any questions. I knew that there was a train close by but we never heard anything. It was walking distance to Historic area. It was however somewhat hard to cross the busy street.

We did a quick overnight in St Augustine while traveling home to SC from SW Florida and we were pleasantly surprised with our stay at the Ponce. Joel at the front desk was so very friendly and helpful. He is a true asset! His sweet nature will have us returning again. He was very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and had everything you needed.
