Stayed for three days in first floor, front facing room. The room was very clean and comfortable, well appointed and not too noisy. . Being right next door to Visitor’s Center made it very easy to book and take shuttle to Trolley Tour. We appreciated not having to drive. The connected Colombian Restaurant had happy hour and good food. I would like to give a higher rating but feel I can’t for two reasons: 1. On our second day our room door was open when we returned. Fortunately it was daytime because I would have been afraid at night since our room was right in front on a busy street. I reported this to the front desk and got a very disinterested “sorry”. No offer to check into the situation. 2. A more minor issue but I was looking forward to using the hot tub. The water was never very warm and jets were very weak. This did not improve over our stay

We stay at the Ponce consistency do to Medical & family (daughter, son-n-law & granddaughters live there) purposes and can HIGHLY recommend this Hotel. Joel, takes very good care of us making reservations and during our stay as well as all the staff. We feel now like part of their family do to my wife is disabled they always accommodate us with our favorite H/C room and staff know her by name. The rooms are very clean, fresh coffee in the mornings, quiet area and enjoy the inter coastal setting. The location is great do to the proximity for her Medical needs, restaurants and historical section down town. Once again if your planning a trip to St. Augustine we recommend the Ponce and ask for Joel, he will take care of you.....

The Ponce at St. Augustine seemed like a nice hotel from the pictures. Mikel checked us in and he was very friendly and informative. When we got to the room it seemed clean. My complaints were from the shower and bathroom. There was pubic hair and long black hairs on the soap dish and in the tub it was disgusting. I sent pictures to the hotel and they never responded back. The handle from the toilet was broken and only because I’m a plumber I was able to fix it. The drains were slow to drain. Another frustrating moment was that when we returned to the hotel to eat they said they were out of food and didn’t offer us any alternative and didn’t even apologize. The restaurant closes at 9 and we were there at 8:15. Communication was very poor when it came to the problems and when I checked out I purposely walked to the front desk to see if they would acknowledge my concerns and of course nothing was said so I will just left. I would give the hotel another chance if they would acknowledge my concerns but since they haven’t yet this is my honest fair review
