Description

The Salute to Pearl Harbor Tour begins with a visit to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, where guests can learn about the events leading up to the Pearl Harbor attack and its significant impact on American history. This engaging experience includes fascinating exhibits that showcase the events of that fateful day, featuring historical artifacts, video footage, and personal stories from survivors. Visitors can also explore interactive displays, maps, and other intriguing features.

Next, the tour continues with a ride on a navy shuttle boat operated by the US Navy, which takes guests across the calm waters of the harbor to the USS Arizona Memorial. This solemn memorial serves as a reminder of the tragic events of December 7, 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, resulting in the loss of 1,177 sailors and Marines on the USS Arizona alone. The memorial is built over the ship's remains, with the names of those who lost their lives inscribed on a marble wall. Upon entering, visitors participate in a respectful moment of silence to honor the fallen and the bravery of those who fought during World War II.

The tour also includes a view of the Historic Aloha Tower, a landmark located in Honolulu Harbor. Built in 1926, this tower served as Hawaii’s welcoming beacon for many years, being the first structure visible to passengers arriving by ship. At that time, it was also the tallest building in Hawaii. Today, the Aloha Tower Marketplace, located next to the tower, serves as a cultural center and a hub for local businesses, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the area.

Note:
  • Security restrictions at Pearl Harbor will be enforced. Please do not bring bags or anything that could offer concealment. Storage is available at Pearl Harbor for $8.00 per bag.
  • On rare occasions, the Navy unexpectedly suspends shuttle operations to the USS Arizona Memorial. In such a case, you will still be able to visit the many Arizona Memorial exhibits, film, visitor’s center, and park monuments.
  • Dress comfortably, but please remember that shirts and shoes are required on the USS Arizona Memorial; swimsuits not permitted. High heels, dresses, and skirts not recommended.
  • Snacks are available at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center on own.
  • Guide reserves the right to adjust route for maximum visitor enjoyment and safety.
  • Be ready for spur-of-the-moment stops, unexpected views, and special sightseeing along the way!
