from Alabama Theatre - ONE The Show
VEGAS, NYC, & NASHVILLE COME TOGETHER AS ONE - THE SHOW

The Alabama Theatre celebrates its 26th year with its NEW Production of ONE The Show. Voted again the #1 Live Entertainment Theatre by Myrtle Beach visitors and locals, and nominated for Country Music Association Venue of the Year, the Alabama Theatre introduces ONE The Show. ONE combines extraordinary talent, iconic production numbers, sizzling visual elements and extravagant costuming with hit songs from many exciting musical genres. Critics are saying “There’s Simply Nothing Like It!”

Produced out of Nashville, ONE The Show has delivered another “mega hit” with this year’s new extravaganza. ONE showcases some of Broadway’s popular numbers like “Hairspray’s” You Can’t Stop the Beat opening the show with high energy to Lion King, & Westside Story. Also new for 2019 is the highly theatrical and energetic song Come Alive from the hit film The Greatest Showman depicting the spirit of the circus with colorful costumes, athletic choreography, and aerial acrobatics.

Among many of the additions to ONE The Show this year will be a celebration of the phenomenal career of one of the most popular iconic singing groups ever: THE FOUR SEASONS! Our cast will perform several of their greatest songs, including Working My Way Back to You, Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, and December 1963. Other audience favorites include a Michael Jackson Tribute, the American Songbook Salute, and the crossover hit in Christian and Pop Music I Can Only Imagine.

As always, the charm of emcee and featured vocalist Greg Rowles will make audiences feel at home while celebrating his 25th anniversary of winning Ed McMahan’s Star Search. Go back in time with Greg as he performs three of the songs that paved the way to victory for him in that inaugural season. Another crowd favorite Grant Turner, one of the funniest comedians in the country, returns as Ricky Mokel with new jokes and antics to entertain and delight all. Ricky will certainly have audiences leaving the theatre with their sides splitting.

"Fantastic Show!"
March 2019
My husband and I have different taste in music - I'm a little bit country and classical, he's a lot rock n roll. We both loved all of the variety of music in this show! I was shocked when he told me on the way home how surprised he was with the musical talent . We both also laughed out loud with the comedian. All I can say is GREAT show foe a reasonable price!

Do not book tickets ahead of time as you will not be able to cancel and get your money back. All they would do for us was give me a gift card good for at year. We live 1000 miles away. Not happy at all.

I have seen this show every time I visit Myrtle Beach and I absolutely love it. The comedian, Ricky Mokel, is hilarious. The headliner, Gregg, is super talented. The entire ensemble is over-the-top talented. Musicians , costumes, songs and dancing leave you with a positive vibe. If I lived in Myrtle Beach I would want to see the performers they have on Saturdays on a regular basis. The venue is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's a great place for entertainment.

Show started out with a comedian, Rickie Mokel, omg, I laughed so hard I had tears! The music and singing was good, country, old country, 50's bop, a couple current pop songs and a few Disney songs. The dancers were good, one was great, he was in the center and he seemed to give it his all the entire show. A couple of the dancers, sang too. We had a blast!

On Saturday, February 22, 2020 I attended a concert at the Alabama Theater. My seats were in section A, row 10, which afford a very close look at the emergency exit of the theater. My seat was approximately 15 feet from the emergency exit. At the beginning of the show a fellow came on stage and pointed out these emergency exits to the sellout crowd attending said concert. Once the concert began I was shocked to see that a line of chairs were blocking the emergency exit and five people (four of whom were ushers) were sitting across the exit in folding chairs. Glancing across the theater to the other emergency exit on the opposite side I noticed the exact same thing. I have to believe this is against the law, certainly in violation of the fire code, and exceedingly irresponsible of theater management/ownership. At the first intermission I went and complained to several ushers who told me that this has been going on forever. They went on to say that they have brought this up to management on many occasions and have been ignored. They seemed to understand the serious nature of this problem but said that there was simply nothing that they could do. They referred me to the manager, Tom Yates. Upon meeting with Mr. Yates, he too was completely understanding and his boss who was standing next to him said, “I have someone you need to meet.” They then introduced me too Jac Humphreys whom they said was the owner. Understand that everyone seemed overly anxious to get me up the line to speak with Mr. Humphreys; I’m guessing it was because they understand that what’s been going on for so long is just unacceptable. Upon meeting with Mr. Humphreys, he didn’t seem the least bit concerned and even laid out an argument as to why this was totally acceptable and necessary. He even accused me of just being someone who was trying to drum up some problems. That was the least of my intentions. He did rectify the problem for the second half of the show. From five different employees that I spoke to that night, they all assured me that this practice of illegally blocking the emergency exits has been going on for a very long time. This is a problem that cannot be ignored. The fact that is has been allowed to go on unabated for so long is an absolute disgrace, to say nothing about how unethical and potentially life-threatening it is to the thousands of Alabama Theater patrons. I contacted all three owners, Mr Humphreys, Bob Wood, and Charles Bradshaw at 843-272-5758 X 4409. I also contacted the NMB Fire Marshall Greg Frazier, along with the Director of Public Safety, Fire Inspector, and Fire Chief. This was only necessary because ownership seemed to care less about this issue. How very sad for a theater of this magnitude. The Fire Marshall did email me back and said next time just call the emergency dispatch and they will address it. If you see this dangerous and reckless policy in action please do not ignore it! I took a picture during intermission but the ushers had just gotten up. Having said all of that, we did enjoy the show, "One" which I would recommend on any evening they choose NOT to block the emergency exits!
