I arrived a half hour before my tour as requested by Sea The City and, staff was professional and on the ball. My tour guide was Josh and he was a total professional. If your a seasoned Vet to jet sking or a novice they’ll judge and recognize your skill set before you even hit the pier. I’ve had experience on a ski. If your looking for a rental experience with the openness of a free ride Sea The City is where it’s at! I partook in the 2.5 hour tour and price was definitely worth it and I will definitely do it again! Keep up the great work Sea The City!!!

"Awesome day of fun!"

We did the “circle” tour today - and it was just what the doctor ordered! The approximately 2.5 hr tour on jet ski’s around Manhattan was a refreshing escape from sheltering in places for three months. Our guide Bryant was great, very chill, and he allowed the group to move at its own pace so everyone was comfortable, but he kept an eye on all of us. Definitely recommend this activity because it’s lots of fun, but it’s also easy to maintain social distance from others. Even if you are a native New Yorker (like myself), you will see things you have never seen before, and certainly from a vantage point you can’t get anywhere else.

"Good experience but wouldn't recommend"

Good experience but wouldn't recommend. We signed up for the one hour tandem ride and didn't do half of the tour route/sites listed on the website under the description of the 1 hour tour. We didn't even get close to the Brooklyn bridge let alone the Manhattan bridge and that was with going full speed on the jet ski the entire tour. We stayed in open water near the statue of liberty and governor's island for most of the tour which was very choppy. Because the rest of the tour group wanted to Max out the jet ski speed we were forced to as well or we would have been left behind. Unfortunately because of that we weren't able to enjoy the views at all and instead were hanging on for dear life through the choppy waters. I'm sure the group of people in the tour makes a difference but it's a shame there were so many instructors on the tour but you weren't allowed to go at your own speed. We also paid for the gopro video but be advised that if you are doing a tandem ride you won't see the second person at all. Luckily we were refunded for the video.

Frequently Asked Questions about Jet Ski NYC

Where do I meet for the tour?
Meet at Liberty Landing Marina. Parking is available on-site. Come down “D” dock and Sea the City is at the end of the dock by the white house with the large red “fuel” sign.

What is the minimum age to go on a jet ski tour?
The minimum age to operate a jet ski is 18 years old. You must be 16 or older to ride along with your parent or legal guardian.

Do I need jet ski experience to enjoy the tour?
No. Jet skis are very simple to operate and comfortable to drive. Our licensed instructors give a short safety briefing before we depart and are always close by while out on the water. The first few minutes are within a no wake zone (5 mph speed limit) where you will get the feel of it before you start to accelerate out in the open water.

Is there a place for customers to change before the tour?
Yes. The marina has facilities to change or use the restroom.

Are lockers available or is there a place to keep our belongings?
Yes. We provide a free and secure space to lock up your belongings. You DO NOT need to provide your own lock.

Will the tour run in the rain?
Rain is not the only weather that can prevent us from being able to take a tour out. Weather and water conditions can be dangerous even if it appears to be a beautiful day out. If the weather or water conditions are unsafe we will reschedule your tour. We do not always know in advance, so please if you are concerned about the conditions give us a call and ask.

Is there a tour guide?
Yes. We provide only guided tours. Our licensed guides are on their own jet ski, while you drive another. A tour consists of a group of several jet skis which stay within a reasonable distance to the guide.

How many people can ride a jet ski?
We will allow 1 or 2 people on one jet ski, provided the combined weight of the riders is under 350 pounds, although it is easier to maneuver with one person on a jet ski.

Can we switch riders during the tour?
If both individuals are 18 years of age or older, yes.

What should I wear?
We highly recommend wearing your bathing suit. During the colder months, we offer complimentary wetsuits and water boots available for anyone that would like them.

Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. It is a requirement that all individuals participating sign a waiver. A waiver will be emailed to each participant for electronic signature prior to your tour.

Is there a weight limit for the jet skis?
Yes. The combined weight of riders must not exceed 350 lbs.

How fast can I go on a jet ski?
Jet skis can get up to 55 mph. We only ask you stay within sight of your tour guide.

Do I need to wear a life vest?
Yes. Both tour operators and guests must wear life vests.

What if I fall off the jet ski?
If you should fall off, the emergency cut off switch will disable the PWC and your life vest will keep you afloat while you reboard from the rear of the jet ski.
