"Has potential, but needs improvements"

This hotel has the potential to be amazing with less than 15 minutes to major touristic landmarks like Disney and Universal Studios. However, the hotel itself has let itself go. The pool is a decent size for kids but would benefit from some tile cleaning and maybe expansion for adults. The room itself was decently sized and was fairly cleaned, yet very dated with a pineapple theme throughout the hotel. The views were nice from the ground floor, but the last time the windows were cleaned properly, is questionable. There was a communal area for uses of equipment like a microwave and ice, but room equipment was minimal. For the purpose of a short stay, with minimal time spent at the hotel, this establishment was fine.

I would book this hotel again. It is Great for the price. There was a slight odor but my disinfecting spray took care of that. The room size was good. The location was good. Be patient because I had trouble finding the entrance to the hotel

This hotel really needs help. I know it’s not the staffs fault but I moved rooms 3 times tonight. 1st room had a noisy aircon unit. 2nd room had the same but also bug crawling over the bed and on the pillow. 3rd room when I eventually got in to it ( handle of this room goes up not down) was a suite but still feels eww. Sprinkler system in the suite hanging from the ceiling. I know it’s not the staff on the front desks fault but owners and managers need to really sort this. I feel so uncomfortable in this hotel now. I’m only here thank goodness but still feel icky. The staff were helpful and apologetic but they really should be placed in this position.

We had our family vacation in Florida this year. We chose to stay at Monumental Hotel on this trip. When we arrived we were checked in immediately, and were given a clean room. Once inside, and settled, we started to notice things that didn't seem to be quite right. The toilet paper holder was broken, the tub was not clean, and the ottoman to the chair had a brown stain across it. The refrigerator was warm even though it was on the coolest setting. The phone did not work, the internet was out, the television had a weird reddish glow on the local stations, and the thermostat wasn't working. My wife likes it cold in our room and she set it on 60, and the thermostat was on 70 at this time. As the night progressed, the thermostat rose to 74 degrees. I went to the front desk to inform them of the situation, and we were offered a new room. We accepted and the new room was a definite upgrade with the exception of the thermostat. It got cooler than the other, but it didn't go below 70. It wasn't a terrible stay, but we will not book there again.

Stayed here overnight just for one night while we attended a concert nearby... hotel is located close enough to everything if you have a vehicle...check in was easy, park under the covered parkway, and walk the long hallway and you run right into the desk area..easy enough to find... Staff was pleasant and helpful, even when we came in at 3 am, a tad tipsy, wanting more pillows, the effort was made to get us some.. housekeeping never came to our room (we were only here one night and didn’t want them to) but seemed pleasant and we saw them often both days... the hotel, itself, is in desperate need of a’s sad actually, the hotel could be absolutely stunning..needs a good pressure wash, paint job, and deep cleaning... hotel does have an old smell to it and at one point smelled like cat urine...but it was weird as it wasn’t all the time...elevator smelled like electrical wires burning and I was nervous about riding up to my second floor in it lol... I did take the stairwell this morning and it was clean, smell free, and seemed to have just been painted! Again, it’s a shame, because the hotel COULD be beautiful!! We never used the pool, although it did look nice, but needs to be recoated... I don’t think it was dirty, as other people have mentioned, I think it’s just old... Overall, the place was fine for the night..the bed was comfortable..I would stay here again for a night, maybe two if the price was cheap..but if I were planning on staying in Orlando for more than two days, I would find somewhere else..
