I only rated it a 1 because I could not rate it a zero. I am in business, so I know how hard business can be. I don't wish ill will on anyone, but there are some basic standards that have to be met if you want to be in business and work to earn mine and my family's hard earned paycheck! My wife and I have been married for 21 years and spent our lives raising 5 kids. Needless to say, our vactions have always included the kids. This was the first time in our 21 years together that my wife and I had a weekend getaway to ourselves. The pictures on the website and reviews looked good, plus we got a great discounted rate through my work's employee portal, but alas, there was a reason why they have to discount the rooms at this hotel. When we got to our room, first our a/c did not work. No big deal, we just called the front desk and reported the problem to which they situated us in a different room. Then the beds and pillows were not comfortable, but hey, it's just a room to sleep in right? The next morning, we get up to take showers and alas, the hotel had no hot water. I decided to take a cold shower while my wife called the front desk to let them know about the issue. She reported the issue but asked them not to send a worker up, because we were getting dressed at 6:30 am. Moments later, we heard a knock at the door. My wife answered the door while dressed only in a towel wrapped around her body exclaiming that she told the front desk worker not to send someone up. The man declared that he was there to check on the hot water and just walked into our room past my wife and into the bathroom where I was in a cold shower totally naked. I told the man, "give me just a second because I am in the shower." The man just stood there in my bathroom, so I was like "Dude, get out of my bathroom so I can get out of the shower, to which he only slightly turned his body away from me and still stood in the doorway of my bathroom while I got out of the shower and dried off. Totally bizarre moment which infuriated my wife. We then called the front desk to complain and literally got no help or assistance. They would not let us speak to a manager or anyone with any authority to help us file a complaint or assist us in getting a refund for our three night stay. This was night one of our fist romantic getaway in 21 years of marriage 😂. Oh well, life is funny sometimes. I just wish there was someone who could understand our situation in times like these who could help us resolve the matter to at least get a decent outcome for our hard earned money that was not well spent. Like I said, "Oh well"! I guess learn from our mistake and do not book this hotel

We booked a room for our anniversary trip at the Monumental Hotel Orlando. When we arrive for check-in, our first room had no air conditioner and the front desk moved us to a secondary room. The next room’s air conditioner worked but wasn’t amazing. The hotel smells funny. The carpet in the first room was disgusting. When we woke up the morning after our first night, stay and tried to take a shower, the hot water wasn’t working. I called to the front desk to let them know and told them not to send anyone up to the room because my husband and I were both naked. I also told them that I had left the water running for almost 10 minutes the front desk receptionist sent someone to my room who barged in on me in a towel and straight into the bathroom, where my husband was butt naked, taking a cold shower. The maintenance man then refused to leave the bathroom so that my husband can get out of the shower and get dressed. Then when we went down front to check out, even though we had more nights left and request a refund the front desk receptionist had zero customer service skills. I had to threaten to call the police and file a sexual harassment charge before she would even call her super superior.

"Not good, not good, really not good; but could have been."

From the beginning it was terrible. There were only 2 carts to carry our luggage and both of them were nearly inoperable. The wheels were flat and it took me and my wife to push the cart. the rooms seam clean until you look a little closer. Floors were dirty, towels dingy, furniture was dusty and you could barely see out of the windows in the room. The shower head broke of in my hand while trying to take a shower. A maintenance man came and tried to fix it. 30 minutes later we were moved to another room. In the new room, the king size bed was sinking in the middle; it was late and we were too tired to complain. The next night the bed collapsed , and it took until midday until some came to fix the bed. There is no microwave in any of the rooms. There is a small one in the lobby vending machine room where I had to wait in a line to warm food. The landscaping is overgrown and the building needs power washing. The Hotel has so much potential, it is a shame that it is so poorly managed. There are no staff except the front desk. There is a lounge and restaurant but it has been closed for some time. There is no lobby television and no conference room events; they are all closed down. I spoke to the management and even they agree that the hotel needed much attention. I spoke to 3 different people and they all stated they had made suggestions to the owner and none of them were accepted. I asked them to contact the owner and let them know my concerns so that I could discuss hotel potential. I am waiting for response. I hope the owner actually read this post. I truly believe the hotel has great potential. But this was the worst stay I have had anywhere.

Terrible hotel, old and worn rooms especially the bedding! No amenities other than the pool. Would rather pay little more for a better hotel and location to Dosney.

"Weirdest hotel I ever stayed it’s dead and should be closed down"

The hotel looks lol it closing down the exterior is not taken care of the pool area had very little seating the pool was dirty and there was about ten ducks living out. It was a glass town inside the hotel . No staff except a useless check in clerk. No dining, no bar , empty vending machines. It was the weirdest place I ever stayed and the photos online are totally false advertisement. Don’t even think about staying there!
