"A Few Tips About Wyndham Lake Buena Vista"

The travel writer Arthur Frommer many years ago wrote that timeshares are of no real bargain. We have found a number of good hotel deals along Hotel Plaza Blvd, i.e. Wyndham Lake. This review is about the good and bad about this resort. The foyer area is first class and welcoming. It is large with several seating areas, a store, bar, arcade and a friendly reception area. We love the high ceilings. One can argue that Wyndham is the closest hotel to Disney Springs. A walk-over structure will get you to a fabulous area of café’s, restaurants, shops and other venues in minutes. First, you have to understand that there are two hotels in at this resort: The Garden Rooms and the Tower Rooms. When you go to book, make sure you know what section you want to be in. The Garden Rooms are the real bargain rooms. They are indeed smaller but still comfortable. There are two sections of these five storied Garden rooms: Sunset to the west and Sunrise to the east. There are quick elevators to each floor. These rooms do face outward to the corridor. The Tower Rooms are in the center of the resort. Floor 19 is the highest floor you can go. These rooms are much larger with a higher price. You will need a key to go up the elevator to your floor. Disney Springs and EPCOT can be seen on the higher floors from the west, and these too have even a higher price. On the eastern side is the pool area can be seen, not a bad view at all. After a few look-see’s, the question is if the Disney Springs view really worth the price considering there are no balconies? All the rooms in both the Garden and Tower are dated. Bathrooms are indeed small with tubs. There has been some remodeling, but not the bathrooms. We don’t like the fact there is no safety rail in the tub itself. In general, the rooms are indeed clean. The beds comfortable. The AC cold. The blackout curtains are a nice touch. A small refrigerator is included. The TV is large and enough stations to entertain you at night. The only item missing is a microwave. The front desk will tell you that a microwave is in the store area. The store area, though, has a sign stating that only their products can be warmed up. The revolving conundrum continues. The store in the lobby does have plenty of comfort items. Some of the prices are not that bad. Joffrey’s coffee is connected to the store. A Disney Pass holder’s card will get you 20% off. At the time of this writing, parking is an extra $30 and the resort fee is $40. You can valet or self-park like we do. It is easy to get in and out of the resort. If you don’t have a car, this resort does have “free” bus service to all the parks. Reception will give you all the details. What I like most about Wyndham is the pool area. There are several pools, hot tub, a volleyball sand court and plenty of lounges. There is even a bar area for drinks and food. Kids love to swim in the main pool. Pool towels can be taken when you enter the front gate. We use this Wyndham resort as our go-to hotel, particularly in October during EPCOT’S Wine and Food Festival when the pool water is still warm. If you can tolerate the older bathroom and if the price is right, this is a good resort to select. If you found this review “helpful” in anyway, please click “thumbs-up” to let me know.

Worst stay i have ever had in Orlando and we visit 2 times a year. On checking in we were assigned a different part of hotel to which I had paid money for. Few days later we decided to try on-site shop bought potato salad i am a vegetarian have been for 10 years was eating it and found myself chewing on meat. I went down to shop to speak to someone they got 2 manager's who looked at me like I was mad offered me water and said she would refund me my food. I'm guessing they don't care about allergies. I was shocked. My room wasn't cleaned for 3 days. Daughter got bitten by ants by the pool as it was still sticky from something spilled the night before. On checkout I asked for my bill was told all ok said can I have a copy guy had no idea what I was asking. Then the real kicker I was charged £152 no idea why. Please be aware when staying here we were not the only one's complaining.
