Description

from Moab Canyoneering Adventure
Moab, Utah has long been one of climbing and canyoneering’s most sought-after destinations, but there is plenty of beginner-friendly rock on which to learn the ropes. Their seasoned guides will help harness your skills (and your courage) to take a step into the vertical world!

Starting amongst ancient petrified sand dunes hike your way downhill to dry sand and rock wash. Quickly the rock wash disappears over an edge, plunging into the depths of a hidden chasm. "We go down there?" is the usual question after peering over the edge, and indeed you can and will do it! This exquisite rappel is the first obstacle in reaching the entrance to the fantastic Grotto. Now, almost totally enclosed in a small stone room, you will exit to find your next challenge, an incredible rappel into an alluring green canyon below via an enormous natural stone bridge!

Detailed canyoneering instructions and a backup safety system allow even the first-time canyoner to experience this exciting activity. Insights into geology, plant life, and natural history provide depth to your adventure. A cool spring-fed stream accompanies us for the rest of this fantastic hike.
