Description

from Washington DC Unveiled
Ready to take on the busiest area in DC? Skip the crowded sidewalks and slide into our all-electric Red Roadsters to be guided around our nation’s capital by a local.

Our National Mall tour will start at the L’Enfant Plaza metro, where our guides will take you back to the city’s origins and give you some tips for exploring the city on your own. You’ll work your way through the Smithsonian area, discussing the best exhibits in each. Make sure you bring a notebook because you’ll want to take notes for later!

Next, breeze past the Washington Monument, Holocaust Museum, and Bureau of Engraving and Printing on your way to our beautiful Tidal Basin, where you’ll be entertained with the stories behind the watery oasis and the Jefferson Memorial.

You’ll also have the opportunity to hop out and explore on your own! We’ll do that at two stops: the FDR and MLK memorials, as well as at the Lincoln memorial. At both locations you’ll head out on foot with tips and insider information from our guide, and you’ll be able to spend some time inside these amazing memorials. Afterwards, you’ll cruise along the scenic Potomac River with views of Arlington Cemetery before seeing the World War I and World War II memorials.

Continue your journey through American history with a drive past the White House. Finally, feast your eyes on the buildings of Capitol Hill and learn the history behind the Capitol Building, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress. End your tour on a high note by asking your guide for an amazing spot for lunch before exploring the rest of DC on your own.

This was a great tour given by our guide “Steve”. Steve was very personable and entertaining. He was very knowledgeable, provided a great deal of useful and accurate information. I personally have done a great deal of reading about American History, especially as it pertained to the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and WWII. The details he provided about things that occurred especially during those periods of time was spot on, Thank you very much. Bill Vayda

"A stroll through a little-known area of DC"

We walked around the H Street, Northeast corridor of Washington, learning about local history and the climb back to gentrification of the area. I am a longtime resident of northern VA, just outside DC, but have only been to H Street area once. It was great to learn more about it and to taste different flavors of the area. Note the places we stopped where basically drop-by places, not restaurants as such, which is to be expected for this kind of tour. Some were also part of a small local chain. H Street is an area that was burned out during the post-MLK assassination riots and its was a long time before it revived. But it is one well worth knowing about now. Our guide Leila was terrific. She is very interested in history (my passion). Furthermore, because she lives in the area, she was able to tell us about a lot of other spots we passed along the way. Note this is a specialized tour, I think more for DC residents or people who like offbeat tours, like food. I recommend a ticket in advance not because it will sell out,but because it is not really a buy at the door kind of activity.

"Exceptional in spite of incident"

We took the 2-hour electric car of the DC monuments with Steve B. Steve was knowledgeable and humorous with an extensive knowledge of the monuments which he shared with enthusiasm. We regret that the family that started the tour with us caused a scene when they decided to leave the tour early. The father had been on his cell phone the entire time he was in the car. This was very annoying. He stated he was not enjoying the tour. (How could he?) Steve made multiple attempts to improve the experience for him, but without success. In spite of this incident, our adventure with Steve was exceptional.

We had the pleasure of having Steve as our tour guide. The day was rainy so the tour was a great choice. We highly recommend taking this tour. Steve was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We only had a couple of days in Washington so this was the best way to see as much as we could. You will not be disappointed.
