Description

Rising 150 feet above Manhattan's West Side, the Vessel NYC is one of the most eye-catching attractions in New York City. Located at Hudson Yards, this spiraling structure was designed by Thomas Heatherwick and features 154 interconnecting staircases and 80 landings—offering an immersive experience with sweeping views of the Hudson River and skyline. The Vessel is open daily, allowing visitors to plan their visit at their convenience.

Known for its bold, honeycomb-style design, the Vessel has become an iconic photo spot and a must-see for architecture lovers, urban explorers, and first-time visitors alike. While not all upper pathways are currently open, guests can still explore multiple levels of the Vessel—including fully open lower levels and upper areas retrofitted with floor-to-ceiling mesh for added safety. These include half the traversable area above Level 2 and a single platform on the top level.

The attraction is part of Hudson Yards, NYC's newest neighborhood for shopping, dining, and culture. Just steps from the Edge, The High Line, and the Shops at Hudson Yards, it's a convenient stop on any Midtown itinerary and easily accessible via the 7 Subway Line at 34th Street-Hudson Yards station.

Whether you're capturing skyline shots, exploring nearby landmarks, or simply soaking in the design, the Vessel offers a one-of-a-kind perspective of New York City. Reserve timed or flexible admission tickets in advance to guarantee entry.

"Beautiful!"

I had seen the Vessel multiple times since it opened, but it was always closed to the public, so I never got to go inside until recently. And honestly, it’s a completely different experience. Seeing it from the outside doesn’t even come close. Once you’re inside and make your way all the way up, the perspective changes entirely. The structure, the views, the angles, it all hits differently. And the photos? Easily some of the best you’ll get in the city. Pro tip: book your ticket in advance and try to go earlier in the day to avoid crowds and get cleaner shots. If it’s open, don’t just look at it, go up. It’s worth it.

"Don’t pay to enter it - a waste of money. Just admire it from outside, it’s beautiful."

Safe your money for the Edge instead!! What a rip off. We were amongst the very early people to enter this structure since it reopened (this morning). I understand the history, but dear me….so much of it is off limits. They don’t tell you this beforehand - what an absolute rip off!! Fabulous to look at, externally, a really beautiful building. But charging people to go up it…..seriously???
