"Thank you Rodney!"

I came to the wrong Hilton hotel and could not get to correct one because of street closures. I was so fragile because of many things this year and was frustrated, scared and overwhelmed. Rodney at the Times Square Hilton is a godsend. He helped, consoled and calmed me. He solved all issues for me and always had a smile and kind word for me. I truly don’t know if I could have handled all of it without him. Hilton Times Square is so lucky to have him on their staff and I am so lucky he was here when I needed help. I am thankful and grateful for him. Thank you Rodney and thank you Hilton for him!

"Dishonest hotel"

I was sending a group of guests to New York for a Yankees game and the Ryder cup. Two of us were looking into hotels at the same time and we both booked at different hotels. Ultimately we decided to go with the hotel that put our guests closer to the event. I tried canceling this hotel within one hour of making the reservation. I could not reach anyone at the hotel so I contacted Hilton customer service. They stated that they could not cancel the reservation without talking to the hotel manager. Later the same evening I received a phone call from the hotel stating that they would cancel my stay, but would be required to charge me for the first night (Wednesday). The fee for the first night was over 70% of the total bill. When I asked why so much, they stated that it was their most expensive night and because the city was on gridlock due to the UN meetings, and that no other reservations could be taken within the city. I immediately went online to check and the hotel was still taking reservations. When I stated this to the person on the phone, she said that it was the general manager's decision and it was final. I have never had a hotel not cancel a reservation the same day it was made. This hotel was not honest or fair. I would not want anyone else to stay at this property and experience the service I did. I book over 100 rooms through Hilton each year and I have never experienced this type of dishonesty.
