My fiancée and I stayed at Moxy / Times Sq for 6 nights in December 2025, it was our first time visiting NYC together and we chose to stay at Moxy primarily for it's location and unique style. Firstly I would like to state that the service we received during our stay was great, we arrived one day later than expected due to a cancellation with British airways and the staff at Moxy were more than accommodating, they moved us to a new room and were very supportive throughout an initially very stressful day. The room itself was also mostly great, as expected the location was amazing and the room was perfect for our needs however we did have some issues with the cleanliness (on the last day my partner lost an earring, upon moving the mattress we found the underside of the bed filthy with discarded food from a previous occupant) Unfortunately the service we received after we left has tainted our experience and has turned what we had hoped to be our regular hotel when visiting NYC into somewhere we'll never stay at again and will actively recommend others to do the same. For context, we initially booked a double room with a third-party as part of a package deal, we contacted Moxy after the fact and enquired as to whether an upgrade is possible, Moxy informed us we could upgrade to a queen room and provided us with an upgrade quote to which we happily accepted, additionally we were told that the upgrade fee would not be charged until we arrive for our stay. Upon our arrival we were informed by the front desk that Moxy would not charge an upgrade fee as "it's something we wouldn't do, we wouldn't do that" we were both extremely happy with this and decided to use the money we had saved for our upgrade fee and go for a meal & drinks at moxy's own Legasea bar & grill to celebrate something we did not initially plan to do (this was paid for upfront and was not charged to our room) The following week as we were travelling home we then received a notification from our bank with a charge from Moxy which informed us we had been charged the upgrade fee, confused and frustrated we decided to wait until we were home to try and resolve this. Shortly after we received a second notification informing us this has been reversed, we both breathed a sigh of relief and arrived home. Unfortunately after this we received another charge from Moxy, this charge was greater than the previous one which left us both bewildered. We contacted Moxy and were informed it was a combination of the upgrade fee, the resort fee, the cost of water provided in the room and a cafe visit which was charged to our room. We informed moxy that to begin with the water had not been used (the water bottles are labelled at 7$ each so they were simply left sealed on the table) we had not visited the cafe once nor had we charged anything to our room and we were informed by a member of the staff that no upgrade fee would be charged. Moxy responded by telling us that the member of staff had made a mistake and they would be given feedback, they could not hell with the cafe fee and they would would not provide any further assistance, we attempted to dispute this and asked would the information we were provided with be honoured but unfortunately Moxy simply reiterated we were provided with incorrect information - at no time did they dispute our word or the words of their employee, they acknowledged it all and simply chose to ignore it. We are both now incredibly frustrated as we have taken the words of Moxy at face value and trusted the information provided to us was correct and at the very least would be honoured even if it was a mistake, it is appalling that even when provided with evidence Moxy has chosen to ignore this and instead prioritised earnings over it's own integrity. We will not stay here again and we recommend anybody looking to stay to be wary of whatever information is provided to you by Moxy as they clearly value revenue over customers.

We stayed here for. a bachelorette party and it was the perfect place! The rooms are super clean and modern. The bar is great for getting the night started and we absolutely loved the rooftop bar for brunch the next day. The staff was also super friendly. Could not recommend enough!

The Moxy Hotel was truly the best stay! I was there for my bachelorette party and the entire experience was seamless. From check in to check out, the customer service was perfect and they even threw in some extra celebratory items for me! I'm from NYC and know the hotels in the area and take it from me, The Moxy is where to stay. All my out of towners really appreciated the chic vibes and welcoming/fun energy. Thank you, Moxy!
