"not great"
July 2019 NEW
Way too many people, especially for a Thursday. They just pushed and shoved their way around the park. Super long wait times to do rides. Won't be going back. Not worth it.

It was an excellent trip. Our entire family had a great experience in Universal Studios. We enjoyed Tour, Set stores, pet training, sound and animation details, etc . Food is not costly inside, except that all are all really good and honest.

"Kids had a blast!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed August 18, 2019 NEW
Have been here ages ago before kids. Was a bit concerned as my kids are 5 and 6 and people were saying it was too old for my 5 year old, but it wasnt! He had such a great time and was able to go on most of the rides. He loved them all except for Flight of the Hippogriff. My 6 year old was able to go on Forbidden Journey but it was a bit scary for her. We knew that the lines would be crazy as we were going in the middle of summer but that was ok, we bought a Cali Neighbour pass and will be back again. We didnt go on Jurassic Park ride as the line was consistently 1.5 hrs or longer. Also didnt do the Mummy as my kids couldnt go on. Utilized the Child Switch line at Forbidden Journey and that was great. Kids loved the character greetings a lot, there's really good variety but must say Donkey from Shrek was awesome, he is so funny. Try to stop by to see him if you can. Show times for charater greetings are either posted or you can ask cast members. The shows are also really good. We bought a small-ish, soft sided cooller bag with drinks and snack (fruit, granola, deli meat, carrot sticks, chips etc) which was a huge help - didnt have to eat park food all day and was a good way to keep the kids busy in line. We were hanging out in Silly Land early in the morning and a cast memner came by to chat with us and gave us one express line pass (good for up to 6 peeps for 1 ride, only from a selection of rides). That was really nice. Wizarding World of Harry Potter was amazing (coming from a HP fan). Butter beer is good, pumpkin juice not so much and the Three Broomsticks had surprisingly decent food, will def stop by to eat there again. Got the kids the interactive wands and they loved it. The Lower Lot takes time to get down (4 escalators) so time the trip down there well, you dont want to be heading back and forth too much. Looking forward to going back!

"Disappointing visit "

We’ve arrived with the family (four kids) to LA and following the tourist theme we decided to got to Universal - what a big mistake First, the cost is a sad joke - there’s no justification for what they charge per person. It’s obvious that the Studios do not limit the number off people who are going into the park, it’s gets so very busy that you can’t even move, some of the rides had a waiting time of over three hours (which is more than what you wait for the best rides in six flags) The food is over priced The shows are certainly worthwhile although they changed very little in the last twenty years My recommendation is to avoid Universal Studios, there’s just no reason to go there

"Universal Studio and the shows are just amazing treat."
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

The visit to Universal Studio with children and family was an experience of skills, dramatization and virtual creativity that is on display in shows on Harry Potter, Minions and Animation. The realism of the whole studio and its structures is a treat for those who have read and imagined about the Harry Potter books. Every one present young and old were just engrossed by the experience of those few minutes during the ride and the experience it embeds on ones senses. Great craftsmanship of motion dynamics, visual projection and multi-track sound to create the world of make believe so real though virtual. In fact the impact on the children is so strong that they even shout, cry and cringe for those few minutes. Very enjoyable, worth the visit and money.

This was our third time here and each time is very different. Got to see the new Jurassic park ride and the animal show which I had never seen. Loved the Harry Potter park and rides. Especially because my son is a potterhead. Good food at the Harry Potter park. Enjoyed the Shepard’s pie.

"Fabulous but Yeap, It was Packed !"

We bought the california Pass, so we had an early entry. That early entry was the best thing in the world of amusement parks. No line for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™ neither for Flight of the Hippogriff™(we actually rode them twice). Later the lines were 2 and 1 hours respectively. After 10:00 AM the park was really packed. We went to CityWalk for food since all dinning places inside the park were full.
