It was great, but the shower was not good. The water barely came out. The room was super comfy and so was the bed. The area was awesome! Super nice and quiet in Studio City. Would definitely love to come back. Although the parking fees are pretty high. If we already pay quite a bit for the room, why can't they lower the parking prices since we are already staying there.

"convenient location, stark rooms"

Located right where Lankershim Blvd meets Ventura Blvd and the 101, Blvd is ideally situated both for sightseers and entertainment industry business travelers, reducing the stress of the commute to meetings in Studio City, Burbank and Hollywood. The hotel's grey-and-orange color scheme is on a par with that of the latest trend in no-frills hotels, as are the comfortable but characterless rooms, which suffer from less-than-ideal lighting in the bathroom and lounge areas. Pluses include a great bar right off the lobby (first drinks are free to guests during happy hour) and the surprising quiet, even in rooms facing the freeway. Parking sets you back an extra $33/night, and front-desk staff during my brief stay could be a bit brusque, but for a short overnight, it fit the bill perfectly.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Plenty of drawers, there is a good sized mini fridge, and a beautiful cooler full of water in the lobby with fresh fruit and cucumber in it daily, so you can fill up your water bottle before you leave in the morning and at night. I found the bed comfortable, my husband didn't. He found the pillows comfy, I didn't. LOL, but you are going to get that anywhere that's not your own bed and pillows right. It was great to have a window that you could open. We had a room facing the back of the property and did not experience too much noise. The staff were mostly friendly. Sometimes I couldn't tell who were staff and who were the friends of staff. No name tags or uniforms. But thats part of the causal atmosphere of the property. There were only a couple of occasions I felt the staff could have been friendlier. Would it stop me from staying again, no. Just don't expect to be swooned upon. There were two VERY helpful and VERY friendly staff and I wish I had gotten their names so I could mention them. But with out name tags..... Storing bags before and after check was not a problem. There is no restaurant, but there is a bar and a very well stocked snack fridge and drink fridge at very reasonable prices. Besides City walk is only short walk and shuttle ride away with a huge choice of food. Its only a 5 minute walk to the bottom of the hill (Lankershim) to Universal where a free Shuttle bus take you straight to the gate (and back down again) The Metro (red line) is also only a 5 min walk, we found this very useful. Take the train straight into Union station and catch the free Dodgers shuttle/bus out to the baseball. Or from Union station you can catch the free shuttle out to the Citadel shopping outlet. Change stations at 7th and catch the blue line straight out to Santa Monica Beach. The blue line also stops at the museums. The Science and Space Museum is free and only costs $3 to see the Space shuttle Endeavour. Lots of great fun for the kids and The Natural History Museum is next door. The Metro (red line) takes you straight into Hollywood if you want to look at the walk of fame etc. Easy transport to the Farmers Market too. We had no issues catching the Metro or the buses, day or night. There is free wifi, but it was shocking, very very slow and intermittent. We could only use one device at a time, it would log the other devices out in the room. The free wifi at Universal and the baseball was much faster. We had to extend our stay by a night, this was accommodated with no trouble at all and a reasonable room rate. Overall a great stay and I would recommend. As I mentioned, the location is fantastic.....

We stayed here for 3 nights recently while visiting Universal Studios. When we first arrived our room smelt of marijuana and it seemed to stick around for the next three days. Our toilet was blocked after the first use and it then happened again one day later with minimal use. After checking out we were charged $7.41 per day that we were there, even though we weren’t made aware of this charge and two waters in the room we were charged $5 each even though it didn’t say anywhere in the room that we would be charged for them. Wouldn’t stay here again.
