"Total Waste"
March 2018
We were on a six day vacation and this day was totally wasted. There were no whales at all. They offered a rain check, but with only two days remaining, why waste a second day. They gave no advance notice that they had discontinued acceptance of American Express. No whales, no American Express, no food, no drinks, no picture, just a total ripoff and waste of time.

"Whale watching and buffet"

Communication was excellent between star of Honolulu and myself right from the start. They called me to let me know that the bus that was to pick us up had been held up and would be a few minutes late, so kudos to them before we even get started! We have had many bad experiences with having payed and not being picked up before, so I was already impressed with their professionalism. The ship was a very good size with 4 different deck levels, I believe, so there was plenty of room to look at whales without being squashed in. There is also a bar on the ship that serves cocktails and most popular alcoholic (and non alcoholic) drinks, so that’s a bonus. Even though it was a big boat, it still moved around quite a bit, so i’m glad that we took some motion sickness tabs before coming aboard. The buffet had a good choice of food to choose from and all the meat was very nicely cooked and tasted great! Because it was so early in the whale migration season, we only saw about a dozen or so whale spouts and didn’t see any breaching at all but it was still a very pleasant couple of hours driving around the waters of Honolulu. A must do activity when visiting Oahu between January and March.

"Excellent New Years’ diner cruise"

We have participated in the New Year’s Eve diner cruise. It was a little pricey, but the food, the organization and the service were all excellent. We expected a little longer jazz performance, not only the very last 15 minutes of the whole cruise, but it was very enjoyable. Well done Star Team!

"Thanksgiving Cruise"

My husband and I reserved the casual dinner for thanksgiving. They didn’t give us any turkey, but instead a wonderful steak with all you can eat snow crab. It was a wonderful environment to be in for the holidays and I highly recommend for anyone. Our server Mackenzie was delightful. She was so sincere, energetic, smiling and just overall amazing. She made our holiday truly one to remember. Thank you Mackenzie for all your hard work this evening, and happy thanksgiving to you. And thank you Star of Honolulu and John for our wonderful cruise.

Sunset dinner cruise was very disappointing. Food and entertainment was terrible and you cannot see much. May be better to take a luncheon cruise during the day in an open boat.
