"Outstanding Experience!"
September 2018
We went on the cruise after I found it in a tourist coupon book. I elected the 5 star cruise and it was so worth it! We were boarded first, had a truly memorable photo with the captain and had lite snacks and drinks before being seated. As for the cruise itself, the views of the shoreline, Diamond Head, and the sunset were absolutely spectacular. The crew/staff were very attentive throughout the cruise. The dinner was a 7 course masterpiece. 3 drinks each were provided free of charge. During the latter half of the dinner we were entertained by a fabulous jazz performance and traditional hula for the beginning. All in all this was the best event we attended on our week in Honolulu. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone seeking a highly romantic night out!

"Disappointing Anniversary Dinner"
September 2018
We were in Hawaii to celebrate a wedding anniversary and were told the sunset cruise was a MUST do so we decided to do it for our anniversary. It was sooooo disappointing. We paid about $100 and truthfully it was more like a backpackers get together than a special Occassion celebration. It felt like we were being herded on like cattle to then realise we were on the bottom deck. The food was very average and definitely not worth $100 per person. Drinks weren’t included in that price. We were told there was a fabulous show ....the show was at best a 2 person sing along. It was so so so disappointing. We had told the person booking us in that it was for our anniversary and she said we would get the best seat in the house but in fact we were stuck in a corner that was so ugly even the photographer told us to move to get a nice photo. We declined moving and the photo. It wasn’t something we wanted to remember. Let down for our anniversary. Pricing should be reviewed. It was more like a $30 cruise than a $100 cruise. Biggest disappointment and spoilt our anniversary night

"A Dinner Cruise in the Honolulu Harbour area"
March 2015
My wife and I went out on a dinner cruise aboard the Star of Honolulu on February 27, 2015. The experience was just great. We booked the five star dinner cruise in order to have top of the line service and food and we were not disappointed.

From the time we boarded we were treated like VIP's and the young man who was to serve us throughout the evening greeted us by name as we had canapés and a drink on the back deck. He showed us to our table and was attentive at the end of the night as he was at the beginning.

Each meal course was served at exactly the right time and presentation was excellent. The food was delicious as were the drinks.

We were entertained throughout the evening by a wonderful piano musician who later joined by a saxophonist, then a singer. During the mid point of our meal we had traditional hula dancers providing an excellent show.

Overall the evening was great success in all areas. My wife and I loved it and would not fail to recommend this to anyone who should be visiting Honolulu as a "must attend event".

Tip: The lower decks seem to have a livlier brand of music with more of a party atmosphere. As we went out on the open deck we could hear their music and wondered what it would be like there. Next time we'll try that..

Proceeded to the closest bathrooms to be told I had to walk to the other end of the cruise ship with an upset 16month old. Really need to have sufficient facilities for passengers with young children on all decks

I went to book this online and I didn't know the location of the hotels listed so I rang them to ask, I said it was just for one person and the lady told me it was sold out. I said there were tickets online and she abruptly told me to just book it online then. When I went to the meeting point, there were two long lines, I didn't hear anyone say anything so I just joined one. I eventually got to the front and the lady told me that I was in the wrong line and made me join the back of the other line which had gotten really long. When I got on the boat they had decided to sit me at a table with a couple, who had already pretty much finished their entree, they were uncomfortable, I was uncomfortable, I said it wasn't good enough. They put me at a table for two by myself, said there had been a cancellation so it was free. The table for two next to me was empty and was all night, so there had been no need to start with to put me with the other people. The table I sat at sounded like someone was being murdered on the other side of the wall, frequent loud bangs on it from the other side. The hostess asked if I wanted more crab, I said yes please, she went away and when she came back with more crab she gave it all to the table next to me, when she had done that she came over and asked if I wanted more, I said yes, you had already asked me and said you were going to get it and you gave it all to that table. I was up on the middle deck at the back and the poor entertainers are out there getting changed out in the open using plastic tubs. Really unprofessional. It was good to see the fireworks but I certainly wouldn't go on it again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else do either.

We boarded the Star of Honolulu expecting great service. There were loads of staff on board and the coach driver was great. The set up on board the cruise however left a lot to be desired. Our steward, although there wasn't much stewading in our section was Mackenzie. I don't know how many table she had to wait or what was happening in her life that day, but we were left waiting for over an hour for our food. There was another table in her area that seemed to be getting all of the attention. When the food did come, my partner got their food, as with the table next to us, only one of them got their food as me and the other person on the other table asked for our steak to be cooked well done, We were waiting well after our partners had finished their meals. They did give me a free cocktail when I asked due to the delay but it wasn't offered, nor any reasonable explanation for the delay. the delay meant we were rushing our food to ensure we were able to get upstairs for the fireworks. At the end of the cruise, our steward was no where to be seen until disembarking when she was seen helping another passenger on the wharf.
