"Amazing Views and Yummy Food!"
September 2016
We boarded for the Dinner Cruise and it was a perfect way to see the skyline at dusk with night lights. They have assigned seating for you and a server takes your drink order. Alcoholic drinks are available for an additional cost, but they have fun signature drinks to choose from. The food is served buffet style and is a large selection, I really enjoyed everything on the menu. You can leave your seat at any point and venture throughout the levels of the boat. This is perfect for any occasion and I would certainly do it again!

"Valentines weekend dinner cruise"

Saturday night dinner cruise on valentines weekend. Had a great time and staff was friendly and helpful. Pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of the buffet. Everything was very good and constantly replenished. DJ played a nice variety of music. Had the most amazing views of the city lights and Statue of Liberty. Visiting from Florida and this was a highlight of our trip. The only small complaint would be that the tables were very close together so it was a little difficult to get in and out.

Very nice time and the best way to see the Statue of Liberty. The food was very good and we upgraded our visit to open bar and shrimp cocktail. There was a glass of champagne waited for our party and the waiters were very attentive.

"Loved it!"

My mum and I did the evening dinner cruise and we had a great time. We had paid extra for a window seat which was well worth it. It was her birthday so they had decorated the table with rose petals and she was given a special desert which was a nice touch! Our waiter was very nice and made sure we were looked after without being intrusive. The price for a bottle of wine was no more expensive than what we had paid in bars in the city and the food was really good. The disco entertainment was good and the views of the city and statue of liberty were stunning. I would highly recommend!

"NYE River cruise"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

My friend and I visited New York for a 5 night stay and booked the new year's eve cruise. The staff on board could do enough for us and after a problem with our seating moved us at the first opportunity and couldn't apologise enough. After being moved our server Denise (LaFlores) came to greet us with enthusiasm and was super friendly. She was very attentive throughout the night and nearing the end came to chat to us, gave us recommendations on places to visit, even writing down the names of them. She also took a beautiful photo of us. I would highly recommend a cruise with this company and an extra special to Denise especially and the all the other staff. Views on the river were fabulous, food was great, the chef even came to personally introduce herself to each and every one of us on board, a lovely touch.

The buffet was mediocre, drinks were included in our package. But the toilets were vile. Urine and faeces on the floor oh and vomit.

Frequently Asked Questions about Spirit Cruises of New York

What is "Boarding Time" and "Cruising Time?"
"Boarding Time" is the earliest our guests may board the ship. Typically we begin boarding 1/2 hour prior to the "Cruise Time." Tickets are picked up at our dockside kiosk up-to one hour prior to the cruise.

What is the recommended dress code?
For men, appropriate attire includes slacks and a polo or button-down shirt. For women, nice slacks, capri pants or a sundress is recommended. Although allowed, we strongly discourage collarless t-shirts, jeans, shorts or athletic shoes.

Are there any age requirements?
Children are welcome on almost all our cruises. Children under 3 are complimentary and a discount is offered for children between the ages of 3 and 12 on select Lunch Cruises. We DO NOT offer Children’s pricing on dinner cruises.

Is the ship handicap accessible?
Yes. The Spirit has a deck and restrooms that can accommodate most standard-sized wheelchairs. Our crew is happy to aide passengers that need assistance. You can call in advance to discuss any accessibility concerns and ensure that you are seated on an accessible deck.

Is the vessel Coast Guard certified?
Yes. All of our ships are Coast Guard certified and maintained regularly to adhere to strict safety regulations.

Will I get seasick?
It's unlikely. The ships operate in New York Harbor, on the Hudson River and the East River, which are all very calm bodies of water. What's more, our ships are large and very stable, so in most cases, you can hardly tell that they're moving.

How is seating arranged on board?
Both the Spirit of New York and the Spirit of New Jersey feature cruise style seating. While we do offer tables for two, the majority of our tables accommodate four to eight people, and guests are sometimes seated with other parties in the tradition of ocean-going cruises.

What is your smoking policy?
All interior areas of our ship are non-smoking areas. Passengers who smoke may do so on the outdoor observation decks.

Do you sail in inclement weather?
Absolutely. Our ships are fully enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort. We sail rain or shine year round.
